Do you find the iPhone X design to be ugly or attractive?

  • Attractive; I like the mostly full screen display, I think it looks chic, and futuristic

  • Ugly; I think the full screen display is ruined by the notch, and the side bezels are still visible

We'll soon see bezels and the home button as ugly and wonder what we ever saw in them.

Good luck with that theory. The iPhone 4/4S is the most stunning smart phone design of all time. It set the standard for smart phone design that prevails to this day.

It is growing on me. A little. I just can't get past the fact that the display isn't edge-to-edge. The bezels around the whole screen are hardly any smaller than the side bezels on the 6/6S/7/8. This is where the S8 is more aesthetically pleasing.

Even with the notch I find it to be more attractive than at least the 6 models which are pretty ugly. It's not a bad looking phone. Still can't hold a candle to the 5's design though :D

The only thing I find ugly is the price point and the weight (judging by specs.) If the Notch interferes with video, well that's not very functional, but since I am not getting one not much else for me to say.

Spec wise, I'm ok with, but its odd, when prior iPhone models came that were redesigned, whether the iPhone 4, or 6, I was blown away and wanted one straight away. The iPhone X just doesn't do that for me.

For me, its very un-apple like in appearance I'm just not lusting after it. I'm not worked up over the notch in a sense, but I do agree with many people that its a horrible design decision.

It did nothing for me during and after the keynote either. Since the price point was a huge turn off, I immediately stopped thinking about it. The potential video issues with the Notch are another turn off as is the weight. I certainly understand folks' disliking the notch and thinking it's a bad design.

I learned a valuable lesson this year concerning iDevices, what works for me is not the top dollar models. I'd probably be fine with the cheapest models. Just depends on my vision. Now a more expensive Mac? That is probably where I would possibly give Apple more money going forward.

I'm happy with my SE, its a great phone and form factor, though some of the features now found in newer phones. Still the price point is rather high for the X

I do not use 3D Touch or the cameras much anyway. Just annoyed, I did not look at the SE as closely as I should have back in late March.

Anyway, for folks who love the X or cannot wait to get it, enjoy it.

I ordered one back when they first announced the SE, because I wanted a smaller form factor and since then its been a great phone.

Yeah, more power to them, and I still believe apple will be very pleased with the level of pre-orders coming in for the X. I think people, opted not to spend the $$ on the 8 because there's not much there so they're going to order the X.

I don't see anything wrong with it. You guys want a new design they give it too you and then your all like boohoohoo. Don't like it? Don't buy it.

The X looks ok to me in this elago case.

It's attractive enough that it'll sell like hot cakes the moment it's released.

Just wait and see.

$1000 hot cakes o_O
[doublepost=1505838974][/doublepost]Tbh, 55/45, or 60/40 is closer than I expected. I was thinking it would be more like 70/30, or 75/25 (attractive, ugly).

I actually don't mind the notch on the X.

I do think the side bezels and the stainless edge greatly messes up the aesthetics of the phone. In the renderings/edited photos (see website, promo materials) it looks phenomenal.

In real shots, it looks almost like there is some case already on the phone. There is just too much going on on the edges of the front.

I agree with this sentiment. I noticed that right away (at least on the silver/white model), and personally think the aluminum sides looks nicer. It looks identical to the dummy, which some said they thought the finished product would look more polished/smoothed, but it doesn't appear to look much different.

I have never brought this up since I think it's purely preference, and/or being picky.

Now that must be some quality gelato! Maybe comes with a $50 apple giftcard :p

It's attractive but I'm still flat-out not ready for the UI change which is why I ordered the 8 Plus instead.

I'm not sure, but the shiny design with the stainless steel looks a bit blingy to me. However, I may change my mind once it's in hand. In reality, most people will put supremely ugly cases over it regardless. The high end model with Applecare and tax will cost almost $1500 so that's understandable.
