For those of you that have purchased the new iPhone X. What do you think of the Samsung OLED vs LCD? Are you sold? Is it a little too blue in the hue saturation? Do you think OLED is the way to go from now on? Happy with the thin bezzels? Android users since 2012 have been using AMOLED. I find it fascinating that true, die hard Apple fans are now experiencing the new screens. Would like you to opine.

I think the OLED in the X sucks. I happily went back to the 8 plus, and LCD, after returning mine. I've had plenty of Android OLED phones before the X, and have never had a problem with them. The X is less than impressive, IMO. I'll take the LCD iphone over the OLED iPhone any day.

I can feel only a marginal improvement from my earlier 7 plus LCD screen, and that too is probably a placebo. I haven't compared the LCD and OLED screens side-by-side like many others do. But for my content consumption and general usage, I don't see any marked improvement in the screen quality. Don't mistake me.... I'm not saying it is not good... I'm saying that the LCD screens on iPhones have been so good.

Not the reason I got the X. It's not a huge improvement other than the contrast to me personally. The LCD had better viewing angles. Again, except for the blacks, if I didn't have them side by side, I probably wouldn't notice most of the time. I need color accuracy 1% of the time on my phone. The rest of the time is reading and productivity, and other than ppi, I don't take advantage of any improvements that may exist.

I like the contrast and the more accurate colors and blacks when watching videos on the iPhone X.

However, when using it in the dark the white background is always too bright to me. Therefore I find myself using most apps where I do a lot of reading in dark mode (Tweetbot, Newsify).

I loved the 8 Plus LCD and I love the iPhone X OLED. I could have lived without the OLED, doesn't really matter to me.

Totally sold on the OLED. The difference in blacks is amazing and really does add to the experience of the phone. Sometimes in obvious, dramatic ways, sometimes in subtle ways, but compared to a backlit display it’s no contest. There’s also the clarity of the screen, the color reproduction, the huge increase in brightness (very handy when outside). etc.

Since I’m almost always using my phone straight on, the little bit of blue shift for off axis viewing is a non-issue.

I loved all my previous iPhones (and I’ve had them all), but this display is definitely a step above the rest.

Also, keep in mind. This OLED display is unique to the iPhone. It was built to Apple’s specifications which is how they were able to mitigate the burn-in issue and the blue shift. There aren’t any Android devices with these screens.

I think in order to make a fair assessment about LCD and OLED, both phones should be used in comparison side-by-side, which you can see the differences. The one advantage with OLED is it has truer blacks with the pixels being turned off. And to me, that makes a huge difference with the viewing experience. The more you use all OLED, the more apparent to me the colors are much more realistic.

Yes definitely, the colours are great and when watching HDR content it is amazing, so far i've watched Wonder Woman, DeadPool and Suicide Squad on the HDR display, this is coming from someone who never use to watch movies on phones.

I’ve got really inconsistent low light greys and I’m getting weird red hues and light spots on the screen.

Pretty disappointed in the screen tbh.

For me the only time AMOLED really sticks out is on a restart and the screen is black with the Apple Logo. Sci-Fi movies like Star Wars The Force Awakens on the X really do look great especially during light saber scenes.

I used a Samsung S6 Edge for 7 months or so and did like a little more color saturation especially when watching sports because it made the OLED really POP.

Tiny text looks crisper on the X than on my iPhone 7, so I’m happy, but I suspect that the move to expensive OLED with its own issues vs LCD is more about removing the bezels than it’s about anything else.

Well to be honest I've been looking at Amoled screens for a really long time! I'd say my first real go with it was back when the original HTC Droid Incredible released on Verizon quite some time ago. I kind of fell in love with those colors, those deep blacks, and than came the Samsung phones with all the glory that saturation brings.

I always had 2 lines, So one line was a business phone and the other a personal. To me i had the best of both worlds, always had my iPhone since the first one launched- straight thru until today with the X, and a separate line, usually an android phone which today is an S8.

Want my honest opinion, it's nice on the X! Is it mind blowing and amazing...I could say yes...if you get a good one! Or I could so no, because I've seen a lot of variation in the screens, but that's expected...This is apples first run with oled. However I can honestly say my 7plus did indeed have a very nice screen, as did a lot of iphones before it. Apple had the best LCD screens on a phone I'd say for many years now.

However I will just come out and say it, the note 8's screen is just better in every way, it's beautiful!!! Does this make the X's screen crappy? Not by any means, I think the iPhones X's screen is very good, just not better than the Note. I guess one could argue this is apples nicest screen on an iPhone? Well I won't get into that because we still have tons of people on 6, 7, and 8's that would say different. IMO it's a really nice screen, like I said...provided you get a good one without a ton of color shifting!

I expect the next go around of iPhones next year to match what we would call the best. It's apples way, this was ok, but the next will be amazing...it's how they keep selling us! I hope so, because every time I see a note 8's screen I'm wowed once again. Sorry X just doesn't have that wow factor.

Coming from a 7 Plus, I think the X display is a big step up. It looks clean, crisp, nicely balanced, perfect blacks, terrific contrast, HDR movies and photos look fantastic, and the image is right under the top glass. The higher touch response time really pays off with gesture animations. So buttery smooth.

It’s a winner for sure.

Apple's LCD may be best in business but the market was yearning for something different. Apple couldn't have priced it at 999 without OLED screens.
Their first OLED seems to be largely similar to LCD.
