I'm still waiting for Touch ID to return, Apple. People can have their Face ID if they want it. I'm not asking to get rid of it, just to give us Touch ID back on the top of the line phones. If not for wanting the better cameras, I'd be buying an SE right now to replace my almost useless iPhone 6s (Apple let me set up a battery replacement at my local Apple Store, and then when I got there, they told me they couldn't replace the battery because they don't carry the parts anymore, as of a month ago).

iPhones are getting a little too thick. When I hold my phone next to newer ones, it's super thin (and I have a case on it).
I have all Siri features off (including Spotlight features and each "learn from this app" for each apps) and some other features and it is working as good as new!

I'll be waiting for port change.
I love

I love the fact that iPhones are thick, it gives it that premium feel, not to mention it gives it better battery life.

I had an iPhone X that was damaged in some way, the front facing microphone worked only sporadically after one year — sometimes videos filmed with the front facing camera had no sound. Specifically in the Camera app. Snapchat apparently worked, supposedly utilizing more microphones…? I switched to iPhone 12 in 2020 and the biggest life improvements were:

1. The camera — it is 100x better than iPhone X’s camera and takes better photos in every situation and I am very satisfied with the results compared to iPhone X which took horrible photos. I of course lost the telephoto lens but I find the ultra wide much more useful.
2. Magsafe is awesome for mounting the phone seamlessly in the car
3. Battery life is much better
4. I like that the iPhone 12 is so light in the hand and its boxy shape, bringing back my favorite design of the iPhone 4

That’s pretty much everything I notice. The rest — speed and other such improvements — I don’t notice any big difference.

I was going to upgrade my X to a 14 Pro, but the tumor of a camera bump thats been floating around for the 14 Pro will now have me waiting for the 15 Pro. I already hate the minimal bump on my X and the insanity that is projected to be the 14 Pro is a total non-starter for me. All those flush camera rumors really got my hopes up.
It is worth it when you see the results from the camera. The iPhone X camera, frankly, sucked.

I've been holding on my iPhone X for as long as I could but looks like I'll be making the change to the iPhone 14 Pro..my battery is really degrading and won't last half a day anymore.
Kind of curious, what’s your battery health and have you had the X since launch?

Ceramic shield: is it just me or the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a much worse display than previous iPhones? I never had any screen protector on my phones and took good care of the phones and the a screen was always perfect. My iPhone 13 Pro Max display looks like it has been in a war zone. There are scratches everywhere and I took the same care of my previous phones.

Aren’t screens with greater shatter resistance more prone to scratching?

A normal Pro formfactor is still to big. Give us an iPhone 14 Pro mini with the same Pro camera, always on and pill hole.

Well I don’t think you will ever upgrade then as it seems impossible to flush these cameras now and even if it was possible you prob be looking another 5 years not next year.

I have a launch iPhone X and I am upgrading but wished it had a usb c but thinking about it I hardly ever use the port now. Yes I agree the camera bump is a complete joke and makes the iPhone look rubbish from that side but it’s either that or nothing, these camera bumps are not going away fast unfortunately.

I have an XS and have no interest in upgrading to a Pro model, so it’s either 13, 14 or wait another year. Some features I would like include MagSafe, the extra 0.3” display, longer battery life, smaller or no notch, but I’m still undecided if this will be the year I finally upgrade.

what’s with geekbench scores. the iphone 5 has a higher score than many newer phones. that’s impossible

I'm also still rocking the iPhone X, it's a beautiful phone. I would love to upgrade, but the only thing that I'm questioning is will it have USB-C or not. If not, I think I'm going to wait for the iPhone 15.

I've also had an X since launch day - almost 5 years now - and except for a bit of stuttering sometimes, it works fine and my battery health is 84% so that's pretty good too.

But I'll probably be upgrading to a 14 Pro in a couple of months. Primarily for the better camera (and because my work place pays ;))

I do wish the 14 had USB-C though, but I'm not sure I want to wait a year more for that. Oh, and I so desperately want Touch ID back. I hate Face ID

Same here with still using the my iPhone X i bought i launch.
Everything else is great with the phone besides i never liked the battery life i have with this phone and i never really got use to the notch :/

Since the 4s i always use upgrade to the next model each year but once i got the X mainly due to the notch is the reason i never go the 11,12,13 etc.
So if the 14 is going to have the pill design that might be the incentive for me to finally upgrade :)

Also would love to go Pro Max size if i do get the new iPhone this year. For me personally the X screen is too small for my hands/fingers.

Lets see what happens at the reveal when it comes.

Have the XS from day one , decided to upgrade to the 14 as my battery does not last more than 6 hours a day, and the phone heats up when using GPS.
