Switched from 6S Plus Space Grey to X Space Grey, 256 GB. Loving it so far.
For those who just recently got the X should have waited a little bit as the 2018 iPhone X version is coming about 5 months. Adopting iPhone X now is a little late as the iPhone X will be obsolete when the newest X version with some improvements arrives.

Disagree completely. Why should somebody have to wait? Perhaps they want the iPhone X now or they’re ready to upgrade for their own reasons. And it doesn’t mean the 2018 iPhone X will be drastically different in terms of hardware, it’s likely going to be Face ID/software improvements. If somebody wants upgrade now, there shouldn’t have to be a reason for waiting otherwise.

Normally it's worth waiting for Gen 2 for any new style, but there's been no "Apple-gate" incidents with the iPhone X apart from the usual scandal of FaceID that really didn't turn out to be much.

iPX2 or iPXS will likely be not much different (S versions are normally chip/memory/camera bumps). Likely to be a cheaper LED version plus a larger size to broaden the appeal and make the 8S a much cheaper device for entry level users to the Apple eco-system.

I've just upgraded from a 7S Plus Product Red - which I have kept and passed on to the wife. To be fair I don't think the colour is that important to me personally, as I always use a bumper case to maximise resale value later. I got the chance to scrutinise both models and opted for the Space Grey 256GB model. I don't know about anywhere else in the world, but in the UK the Space Grey options are considered 'masculine' whereas anything else isn't... I endured a ribbing for buying a gold iPad!!

Just bought new IPhone X black 64g
It should be enough for my use for the next ~2 years .

Coming from iPhone SE... with no complaints (replaced battery every year, so no issues with performance )

I've been rockin a 64GB iPhone SE for the last year and a 128GB iPhone 7 (parents gave me this one) for the last two. Did some math and figured out that if I sold the SE and used that money, the upfront cost for the 256GB iPhone X would be about the same as the upfront cost for the 64GB one. I also saw my iPad Pro EIP is about to be knocked out, which will result in a lower monthly bill even *with* the X upgrade. Figured it was a no brainer at that point.

Went with the 256GB Space Gray and have not stopped using it today. :D Definitely going to be keeping this phone until it dies.

I agree with you but i would suggest Silver 64GB
Good recommendation, that's exactly what I ended up going with in November. It's held up pretty well and storage has not been an issue for me due to iCloud.

Silver to pay respect with my 2007 first ever iPhone
64gb as i like the 200gb icloud subs

Holding breath for iPhone X in Red. Wish me luck...

That’s highly doubtful. I don’t believe Apple is going to release the iPhone X in red or Product red, given the existence of the iPhone 8 in Product Red already and if they do release a Red iPhone X, its unlikely in 2018.

The only buyers who may find the X obsolete may be:
- If you prefer a larger phone the "X Plus" with its larger screen will be a nice upgrade. (Note that many of us don't what a phablet, and are happy to get a full featured iPhone X in a standard size.)
- Your an iSheep who upgrades every year no matter what.

From all indications the successor to the X will have only minor improvements, and it sounds like much of the effort has been put into reducing cost to manufacture, not significant technical advances. To me there is no reason to wait if you find a good deal on an X (unless you really want the X Plus).

Actually I am just wondering should I buy iPhoneX or just waiting for iPhone9 this year. Any suggestions?

unledd you get an excellent deal, wait for iPhone XI. I am not sure if iPhone 9 will be released, but we will see in September. Just wait. Only 4 months to go until the next release.

Nah-
A stable OS on a new model iPhone is not just 4 months away. More like 11.

Sure- 4 months from now new iPhone hardware will be available-- but it's going to run on beta software (iOS 12) for 6 months until Apple irons out all the myriad of new bugs. The time to buy any new iPhone is when the OS hits .3. That's usually in the spring. Wasting time with beta testing a quirky, laggy new iOS for 6 months (not to mention all the wasted time downloading & installing endless bug fixes after another) is for the birds.

I’m seeing the SEv2 to be the entry level into iOS ecosystem along with regular 2017 iPad. The iPhone 7 will come next in price tier before iPhone 8.

Personally the 7, like the 6S in some countries should be killed, replaced with the 8 to help sell wireless charging pads.

It's getting more likely SEv2 will appear (I'm sure my comment was before the heighten rumours that it'll exist). I guess SE (as long as they can keep making the parts for the outer casing and screen cheaper) will always be appealing as the smaller/entry level device to entice people to upgrade later. Sure SEv2 will make the original iP5 shape the longest going form factor in manufacturing within smartphone category? We're getting on for 6 years. That's pretty impressive.

I thought maybe Apple might want to reduce it's range and make the higher end models more appealing again. Agree 6S should go for certain. But 5 different iPhones (excluding colour/size) over 4 generations? Maybe keeping the older versions in the range is a commodity for production, especially with 6S/7/8 being the same outer design with slight alterations inside.

This is something important to factor in, imo
