breitbart..heh. Was that a comeback? Read actual french and local news papers then come back at me. I can translate if you would like.

I live and work in Brussels and I can assure you, that while we do have a lot of issues (in part due to a large population of immigrants that is poor, unemployed and not very well integrated), we do not have no-go zones. Some neighbourhoods are easily agitated but nothing compared to the US. I remember driving through some areas in Chicago that were on fire and where I felt so unsafe I would not stop in front of a red light. I’ve never experienced this in Brussels, or the EU. I ride my bike to the Apple Store and traffic is more dangerous than terrorism.

I live in Brussels, Belgium and I feel much more unsafe in the US where every lunatic and his brother are allowed to have a machine gun. Or where any minute the president can start WW3 .

By which I don’t want to minimise our own problems ;-)

But not selling a phone seems like a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist.

While I understand what you are suggesting - or at least think I do - there are a couple of problems with it.

1. VERY few people own "machine guns"... and even non-machine guns are heavily regulated. There is a lot of disinformation around suggesting that people can easily get guns of any type. That is simply untrue. Unless, of course, you are already a criminal, in which case you buy it off a fence, steal it, etc. The millions of average American's who own guns have been through the background checks. That said, countries without legal firearms do indeed have less gun violence, but that doesn't stop the violence itself. Just changes the type.

2. President Trump has *never* threatened to start WW3. You're confusing him with Kim Jong Un... who continues to threaten first shot. Trump is just the first president we've had in a while with the testicular fortitude to call his bluff. If you consider the situation logically and ignore everything said, and even WHO said it, it just makes sense. If Country X fires a live nuclear missile at the US... we should - and WILL - wipe their leadership off the face of the planet. That's why letting NK get nukes in the first place was a huge mistake. As an aside, it is also a harbinger of a future once Iran gets nukes.
