The people who this phone is aimed at don't pre order phones. This phone will destroy the Xs phones in sales.
That’s exactly what I meant. The enthusiasts were not waiting to preorder this phone. I’m sure it will do well with the average consumer though.

If you pay full price you get an unlocked phone with the carrier's SIM in it. I checked this a couple of times just to be sure, and it says it right there on the order page. Strange but true.

I probably should have said "SIM free" rather than "unlocked". Does buying a carrier version of the phone trigger an upgrade fee, or is that fee applied only when using a carrier's payment plan?

People actually believe they sold out? lol

They were still showing every phone available when I checked hours ago.

Yeah, I fully expect that some (if not most) Apple Stores will have some configurations and colors available for walk-ins on Friday. There’s no way every possible configuration of the XR goes to not being available for pickup across the U.S. all at once unless somebody at Apple flipped a switch to make it that way.

They always save stock for retail stores even when the phones sell out online in an hour.
There is nothing new here and no conspiracy. It's logistics as usual.

That's ok. I want to test drive and compare with the others before making a final decision in what I want. I guess some don't understand it is just a cutoff date to receive on Launch Day and not because it is sold out. I am surprise Apple stopped taking orders and continue selling.

No conspiracy (nor was I implying that). I just said that clearly, someone at Apple flipped a switch to make the website show that nothing can be preordered now and subsequently picked up on Friday. Six colors and three size configurations don't usually reach low capacity at the exact same time across the board.

Gotcha. I suspect it's just too late to guarantee delivery by Friday at this point.

Uh, yeah...actually ever look at Apple's earnings? They crush it. Why would this be any different? Or are you the guy saying the X was failing last year only to be proven wrong?

I mean, what is your implication? The Xr isn't selling well?

Just checked my phone on Apple. Looks like November 6 is the earliest delivery. Not available for pickup at Apple stores near Seattle. I have found a cover (available at Amazon, Best Buy and Verizon). Purchased my screen protector during preorder. Happy I preordered and anxious for my new phone. Will research best Apple care as I only keep my phones a year.

May be worth going to your local Apple Store to see if they have any walk in stock on Friday. They've generally have a few extra in stock at previous launches.
There’s also John Lewis, curry’s, Carphobe warehouse to try on the day. You can also buy outright from one of the carriers if they have it in

The Xs never sold out in the UK and was still showing as available for delivery up until Wednesday or Thursday.

Some people are still going on about the X being a flop despite the numbers at every earnings call painting a different picture.

That shipping delay didn't take long to happen. I'd pick the red one if I didn't have an iPhone XS Max.
