I don’t know why anybody would care? But I ordered a red iPhone XR for myself. I am not particularly happy with my choice of color. I much prefer the bright pastel colors, but I don’t like any single one of them alone. It’s more all those colors together or at least two or three of them which looks awesome. So now I need upto five girlfriends with different color iPhones in and around Berlin, Germany.

If you pay full price, all they offer are unlocked phones. Just pick the carrier you're with and check out.
And when you receive phone, swap your own SIM card from existing phone. Never have figured out why Verizon and others charge $$$$ for this service.

Is it normal that there's only 2 XR Cases available?

No issue getting a red XR for first day of delivery and just ordered half an hour ago. I was going to get up in the middle of the night but failed to set an alarm. Guess its because on this one it was ok if it would be a while before it delivered.

I dig the new colors, makes me want to buy an XR, but then again I was a Nokia owner, still have a red 1520 in a drawer and the wife has 1020 yellow there too. Man that 41mp was awesome for its time. Congrats to all who bought one.

I don’t get it. Where are the Apple cases for the XR?!!! They didn’t make any? Only for XS and XS Max? That’s whack.

Tempted to pay the early upgrade fee on the Upgrade Program and grab an XR but I don't think I will. I'm still happy with my Product Red 8. I'll wait for the next model. Uggghhh, if I see one on display I bet it's gonna change my mind though

This is just like what they did with their last "colored" phone, the 5c. They made some weird silicone case with holes in it (remember that beauty?), but no leather, etc. Except this time around they skipped the silicone XR case entirely and made... none. :(

I would never buy an iPhone X from last year. Considerably less battery life, worse camera, slower cpu, no colours. And for what? An oled screen that most people won’t even realise is any different. No thanks, I much prefer an iPhone XR.

Got a Xs because couldnt wait until now heh.. but can say the oled is nothing special, only bit better blacks but suffer from colorshift when tilting the screen which is kinda crap

Better?

Inside, the iPhone XR is sporting a 7-nanometer A12 Bionic chip that includes two-performance cores 15 percent faster than the A11 and four efficiency cores up to 50 percent more efficient. The four-core GPU in the A12 is up to 50 percent faster than the A11.

A next-generation 8-core Neural Engine completes up to 5 trillion operations per second for major improvements to all apps and features that use AR and machine learning.

When it comes to battery life, the iPhone XR has the longest battery life of any Apple iPhone.
And apart from the great battery you would not even notice the difference in those specs from the X in day to day use it’s all apple hype. Saying that I. Bought an Xs as the XR is just a bit to big for me and I have no issue with headaches from OLED thankfully.

The sad part for me is this is actually a better-looking phone than the flagship XS. Add in the better battery life of the XR and the XS is a really tough sell. I love the XS OLED screen but it's not worth $250+ more just for that (and the smaller XS actually has a slightly smaller screen than the XR).

I ordered a black XR 256 at midnight. No ordering or website lag at all. It was every bit as easy as ordering the XS Max a few weeks ago. I just wish the XS/Max came in the same color array offering. Red is awesome.

What's the point of pre-ordering when there's a bunch available for pick up in-store on the 26th after you see the color options in person?

Yellow looks to be low demand though as they're not stocking the 128GB and 256GB storage options.

Why does macrumors and virtually all media keep repeating the lie of anything near an edge to edge screen? The one on my 7 is the same as my X & XS+ProMax on the sides. Not even remotely edge to edge. Nearly a 1/4" total. When you consider the edges actually bulge, it's 1/4" on each side of all of them.

I am really not. The LCD screen is perfectly fine to me. Getting a worse camera, much less battery life, a slower cpu and no colours is not.

LCD is still inferior and Pixel density iPhone x 458 ppi vs XR 326 ppi is a pretty substantial difference IMO. Plus the bezels are pretty chunky on the XR. A worse camera (barely), slower CPU (probably barely noticeable in most cases at this point in there life cycles unless you are using pretty intense apps. If you're a big gamer then fine it might make difference) No colours (most people put a case on their phones anyway and if you don't you could get a skin if you really want to change the colour of an X).

To each their own but I prefer an OLED display and higher PPI screen since the screen is what I interact with the most on a phone. I also prefer a smaller phone XR is bigger. What I really want is an XS the size of an SE or really any SE upgrade. It might be a niche segment with so many people wanting bigger phones but us small phone lovers still exist and Apple would have barely any competition against it that I can think of anyway.

Battery life is probably the most valid argument I'll give you that one.

Other than the processor, Face ID, camera yes. If you are an lcd fan however, no.

If you're PPI fan then also yes.
