iPhone XS Users Complain About Skin-Smoothing Selfie Camera

From a photografperspektiv, i‘d like to see a toggle to turn that function off.

Don‘t get me wrong, the AI Capability are awesome. But i like to edit my photos afterwards in lightroom, and i like it when i have a „RAW“ image to edit it from.


The other point is, that‘s not me on the pic. That‘s what the AI think what i should like to looks like.

Does it make calls, does it work as a browser, can I watch stuff on plane, will it do vacation snaps. As for the rest I do not care. The best thing I see about xs max apart from screen is the option to use esim in IOS 12.0.1 to put my AT&T and Verizon numbers on one phone yet people blether on about stuff like this which does not concern me.

Samsung let you turn it off, that's why.

Ooh. Boo hoo. Isn’t life tough with me Millennial First World Problems an’ all! What next? Me shoelaces are a bit too tight. Can’t you do my studying for me? Why can’t I have money now and work for it later? Life is SO unfair!

I don't see the problem. Those slave labourers were decapitated before Tim turned up, the seals were a danger to swimmers, and since when is free oil a bad thing?

I don't remember Samsung getting such criticism for doing something similar last year.

Agree with this. I do use the selfie cam for FaceTime every Sunday for an hour with brother, I doubt either of us notice.

Apple has to make sure it’s customers look better in selfies .

I don’t have a problem if they do this, as long as you can turn it off. It’s like the last trottle scandal, apple needs to be Honest/transparent with its customers .

For most people the aim of the camera is simply to reproduce how the image looks in real life as accurately as possible surely?

If the auto-smoothing can't be disabled it's a massive fail. Maybe girls are ok with this, but I'm not sure guys want their selfies to look like they're wearing makeup!

Joni had all his pictures “worked” up this way for his memorial book.
Currently, he’s piloting an AI belly filter (together with Phil and Eddy)

Everybody has to complain about something.
Wasted space on article and thread. Frankly, the second photo is an improvement.

Out of probably the millions sold, I can understand there will be some with issues, it’s normal. But the amount of complaint threads and posts have become just too much.

Sometimes I think people are trying too hard to find problems that aren’t problems.

I don’t know, am I especially blessed or something? Been buying all sorts of Apple tech since 1987. Desktops, laptops, Newton’s, Messagepads, countless iPods, iPads, iPhones, and on and on.
I’ve only had 1 issue with the logic board on the first desktop. They replaced the unit and all has been smooth for all these years.

May be Faceid analysis of all iPhone users (facial features) created this option and the A12 neural engine kicks-in automatically removing the turn-off option by itself with its learning algorithms, starts beautifying their pictures by correcting their facial features! Software by itself by a12 bionic

Forced options are never a great idea.

As for issues, All my iPhones have been replaced apart from the 3gs.
My watch has been replaced.
Two laptops with various parts replaced
iPod repaired.
iMac repaired.
Its just as well I have an Apple store near by

You actually have an issue called Apple FanItis.:D

Making a non-issue an issue for...? I don't understand why this non-issue needs to be ranted about.
