Dated? Because the iPhone 4 is so dated?
As we've stated 100 times, in order for a phone to be dated, it has to stop selling, and it is STILL selling like wildfire.
It still has the best camera of any phone, and it still runs smoother than any other phone.
Now that that has been said, how did Apple copy Nokia? Did Nokia ever release a Capative Touchscreen phone with a native OS that ran a full internet browser with an App Store that 3rd party developers could create apps for?
I think not.
Reach, i think this may be a lost cause![]()
I think the Nexus Prime with Ice Cream scheduled for a US release in Oct. will be a huge upgrade. The button less (software buttons only ) device is going to really free up room for screen so a 4.5 inch screen will have a size of say an iphone 4.
I also believe ergonomically it will be better with on screen buttons. Also think about all the iphone's with broken home buttons. I think this button less device is going to give Android a new identity. No doubt Androids early builds were beta but Android is turning the corner and becoming faster and more stable expect for the odd buggy 3rd party app.
i just don't see Apple being able to stay current with Android in the future. Of course just one persons opinion.
I think you are falling into the realm of consumer that believes that more megapixels = better camera....by a wide margin.I think you will find that Nokia N8 has the best camera...by quite a margin,

Reading a sales website that says "IT HAS A 12MP CAMERA, SO IT'S THE BEST!" proves nothing. That proves that they are marketing this phone to sell to idiots who know nothing about cameras.
The iPhone 4 uses a back illuminated sensor that increases pixel quality in low-light situations (80% of the pictures taken by amateur photographers would be described as "low-light" to a professional). The Nokia N8 uses a standard CMOS sensor, therefore not allowing for the nice photography in low light situations. That said it has a 1/2" sensor, which is just ridiculous.
Not to mention the iPhone's HDR feature, which takes 3 images, one a regular exposure and the other two and +1 and -1 exposure to reduce glare or shadows in low or high light situations.
Image comparisons show that the iPhone rivals all camera phones.
You can prefer your SGS2 all day, and I wouldn't argue with you at all. But you're arguing with me that Samsung and all other smartphone developers aren't copying Apple's original idea from 2007?and it aint a lost cause.....all I'm saying is that there is more to life than apple and its products...there are other manufacturers out there who make brilliant quality equipment, and at the moment i just prefer my SGS2 it does everything i need it to do both for work and pleasure a lot better than my iphone4,if it didn't then the SGS2 would be in the drawer not the iphone4..end of..

hooray!!..someone who knows their stuff...android is developing a lot quicker than iOS...

Look at the iPhone:
- Capacitive touchscreen
- Native OS
- App store with 3rd party apps
- Phone capabilities
- SMS capabilities
- Full Web Browsing
Look at Android phones:
- Capacitive touchscreens
- Native OS
- App store with 3rd party apps
- Phone and SMS capabilities
- Full Web browsing
These aren't things infringing on patents, but they were all compiled together into one phone originally by Apple.

I do wish people would stop posting that if Apple made cr*p that we would all post how we love it. I am not young, naive or uneducated. So far (that is, since the early 1980's for me) the Apple products I have used have been better than the alternatives for my purposes.
@naths: Neither phone has come out. There is no basis for choice other than our previous experience with phones from Apple and Samsung. I like both companies' phones, but I think it likely that I'll stick with Apple because I personally do not like Android, the GUI of which reminds me of the early days of Windows: Yuck. Rest assured, however, before I put down my hard-earned cash, I'll check all of the next crop of smart phones because GUI's change.
You make it sound like that is NOT what I am trying to say?Reach...thats exactly what I'm trying to say...i use a iMac at home and a macbook pro laptop, but my paper uses Microsoft products, each one suits its use,and for me the SGS2 does what i want it for better than my iphone4 did,so there are products out there that are as good as and in many cases better than apple products and vice-versa....

If Apple sold dog crap the first generation would be crap, the second generation of dog crap would be where the first should of been at release and the 3rd Generation of dog crap would be great. and the Masses would rejoice.
I don't know with you guys, but to me, Samsung's Galaxy Ace is like the complete rip off of the iPhone 4.

My friend who has one even says it himself he's embarrassed to use it out in the public because it looks like a complete knockoff.
Wow, the iPhone 4's screen looks so tiny.
But how different can one really make a smartphone look these days? They're all very much similar in looks.
You can thank Apple for that.
I would think the SGS2 is what the iPhone5 will be compared to. Even then, the iPhone will have a difficult time unseating the SGS2 as the best smartphone. I'm not talking sales numbers either. A good number of people on this forum seem to think that sales numbers equal a superior product. What a complete joke. The SGS3 will be so far out of iPhone5's league, it'll be a crime to put them in a shoot out once they both come out.
If your more for the tangible (hardware) and customization and not about the marketing (it just works, it just feels right) and restrictive environment, Android phones would be your choice. Samsung is currently leading the Android army in the war for mobile market share, so SGS3 all the way without question.
Keep in mind your in a forum where people would take the 3GS over a SGS2. That should tell you a lot about some of the people that buy Apple products. You also have posters declaring they bought a SGS2 and got rid of it because it sucked so bad.![]()
A pretty bold statement given that we know the specs of neither. The SGS3 will be so far out of iPhone5's league, it'll be a crime to put them in a shoot out once they both come out.
