hi i cant seem to get notifications for my apps do you guys know why?.need help on this
Search for Cydia Push Fix on google. Should fix your problem.

Usually that happens when you don't activate with an official sim.

I had the same problem (along with no YouTube or GPS) when I was on 4.0. I think it's common for a lot of jailbreakers, or at least unlockers. While I was reading the iPhone Dev Team's last blog post for instructions on what the best way to JB my iPhone 3G would be that particular week, I noticed a shout-out they gave to a third-party (er, fourth-party?) tool which promised to fix that sort of stuff.

Near as I can tell, it makes iOS think you've got a valid SIM by imitating it in software, sort of like how Hackintoshes emulate EFI to get OS X to run. I followed the developer's instructions to the letter, and I now enjoy all those things I was missing. (Actually, I should point out that I don't use any apps that send me push notifications, so I'm not sure if they work, but everything else is peachy.)

You can read the Dev Team post here — scroll all the way to the bottom (Update #6) for the bit about SAM.

I have good news for some people. If you are stuck on the itunes logo, the websites are correct. They just don't all explain it well.

They say restore with 4.2.1 or 4.1 through itunes and wait for the 1015 box. Now here's what they don't mention. Don't click ok. Don't. Go straight to tinyumbrella and kick it out of recovery mode. Wait. You should be able to go to the emergency call screen now.

Then you should be able to jailbreak.

My problem comes after this, if anyone has advice. I restored my phone to 4.1 (I have the 6.15 bb) through itunes, then jailbroke with jailbreakme.com because my power button has ceased to work. :/ Anyway, it worked, and I synced with my computer. When I unplugged it, it worked for about five minutes, then it started constantly rebooting. Apple to dark to apple again until the batteries run out. It did this once before, which is why I had to restore in the first place. Is there anything I can do?

You mean you went to 4.0.1? www.jailbreak.com doesn't work on 4.0.2 or higher.

bricked iphone

Just wondering if anyone can help me with my iphone. I have an unlocked iphone (2g) from the old days... which had firmware 1.1.4 or something. Ignorantly while trying to upload files from iphone to mac comp in itunes, i updated the latest iphone software, i believe 4.2 and now my phone is back to it's original non functioning state. A bricked phone that will only allow emergency calls. How can I unlock it so that it's a working gadget again? Does anyone have any suggestions?

The first generation iPhones (aluminum silver back) can only go up to 3.1.3

To unlock and jailbreak use Redsn0w. http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=7436

I'm guessing you're in a constant boot loop? You have the iPad baseband installed on your iPhone?

To restore without any errors you'll need a custom firmware.

HELP!!!

I'm jailbreaking my iphone 3g and jailbreak stuck into rebooting!

I had it charging over night, when I woke up I found the USB and iTunes screen. I hooked it up to my computer and got error 28 (twice). And the phone screen shows itunes logo and usb cable all the time.
Are you seeing the Apple logo or a USB and iTunes on the screen?

Error 28 is a hardware issue.
