If we ever get iPhone manufacturing in the US, it's going to be massively automated factories, overseen by a comparative handful of employees. Because the US population just wouldn't be there for putting up an entire Apple factory city with hundreds of thousands of workers densely packed in, doing hand assembly work all in one location. Apple would have to import workers to do that kind of work in the US.

Though if Apple (and others) was always planned to get an exemption then that means that fact was intentionally withheld to get some effect such as big stock changes. I'm not sure I'd give them that much credit or not but either way it was either reactionary (not planned) or corrupt

Two weeks ago the world was worried that he might be successful in finding a loophole to get a third term. How many weeks before the republicans try to find a loophole to get rid of him? The double edged sword for Trump is that most of the Republican Party only support him because that was the opportune thing to do, not because they actually support his politics. Once it is no longer the opportune thing, the whole party will turn on a platter, and Trump is ****ed. He really is imploding his own presidency at breakneck speed right now.
