Apple has just been poor at projecting sales, and is caught low on stock. It happens, and it does not mean that 3G is imminent.

It may not mean that 3G is imminent, but I do believe that it points to the fact that a new device is coming sooner rather than later.

Also, to the people that believe that the existing device will continue to be sold after a new device is released - please explain your logic. Why would Apple let existing stock dwindle if they intended to continue to sell the device? They just prefer to take a little vacation from income?

ive called every apple store within 2 hours of NYC and not one of them has 16 gig iphones, most dont have any 8 gig phones either.

i dont want to buy it at the att store, im weird about buying apple products from other places (like bestbuy, etc) and i also want to return my 8 gig for the 16 gig.

this sucks!

Cali store out

The Santa Rosa plaza apple store is also out of both. kinda weird that it's this widespread

also, there may be plan changes. not for sure, i just overheard some employees talking, and they seemed to be talkin about it, while reading one of the price cards.

You really reckon in the next few days.. So if somebody was to call up Apple Telestore to buy an iPhone would they advise against it? Has an FCC approval been passed?

Because I live in Norway and don't even knkow if I can call to USA. If I can, I think that would be KINDA expensive.
I just thought somebody on this forum lives in New York, and maybe one of them have been on an AT&T store not long ago?

I got mine at the AT&T store in Newport Mall in Jersey City on Monday.. Just take the PATH across the river and get it there.

(I usually try to get Apple stuff at the Apple store too, but with the availability issues I wasn't going to be picky).

Does anyone know if there is an iphone available in new york's applestore? And if not the only way to buy it is from an AT&T store?I want to avoid AT&T store because a friend told me that went there and they told him that they only sell service and not mobile devices!!

I think SOME AT&T stores only sell services and other sell phones etc. too.

But is it hard to buy for a foreigner at AT&T?

Yes i know that AT&T stores sells mobile phones and other services but i checked it on AT&T's website and the store where my friend went tells that sells iphones.Does anyone knows a way to buy the iphone?

I've heard rumors about Apple Stores in New York having then in stock again? Somebody had bought iPhone in New York today, I think.

Can anybody confirm?

Please if someone knows let us know too because i have 1 day before a friend who is in new york returns. He went to an AT&T store and they didn't sell it to him so i think the best solution is applestore.

id call..but i dont have long distance

Sorry my friend but i dont live in america and i dont want to tell my friend to call.He is very busy and i dont want to disturb him. Please if you find something let us know.

So it seems that it was just a rumor that applestores have stock again?Anyone knows something about New york's applestores?

I was on vacation in Boston last month and tried all apple stores for 16Gb iphones. All apple stores in Boston were sold out and low on the 8Gb models.
Tried the at&t stores in Boston. They were a joke. They had plenty of both in stock but told me that they could not sell me any phones unless I signed a contract there and then for 5 years.

My girlfriend telephoned another at&t store in Boston and was told that their policy was that they did not sell handsets alone and that you had to sign up for a 2 year contract in store. Does anyone know the exact policy ??? Was it just the English accent that led them to tell lies????

Anyone had the same problems with at&t.

Yeah, we're talking about NEW YORKS apple-stores. They can have them in stock, Las Vegas don't need to have them because.
