Such a small change has to take Apple 4+ years to implement, I guess in my whole life I would never see them getting to some of the bigger changes, like Offline Map support, or SIM card support in Apple Watch.
I have never really notic[VOLUME . . . . . .]eally a problem for anyone?![]()
Now make it so that incoming phone calls don't take up the entire screen. How is this still not addressed?
The keynote that already happened?im sure this will be a huge talking point during the keynote...
Seems like the article covers and demonstrates (via images) it all fairly well.I have no idea what this article is referring to. I've NEVER had any problem adjusting the volume of any video I was watching.
An orientation lock button like in the YouTube app, that rotates the video if you have orientation lock enabled.
Nice! Now all I need is a toggle in settings to allow for Portrait lock to lock everything except video! It's literally all I have on my iOS wishlist and I've been using and jailbreaking iPhones since the 3GS (I don't jailbreak anymore).
Good move, I wanted
iPhone users can finally cross one item off their wishlists: the volume slider no longer covers videos in iOS 11.
Now, when a user adjusts the volume while watching a video, a much smaller volume HUD appears in the top-right corner of the screen.
While the change is small, the user interface tweak was highly requested by many iPhone users for several years. On iOS 10 and earlier, the volume HUD intrusively pops up in the center of the screen for a few seconds after the volume is adjusted, unnecessarily covering the video content until it disappears.
Some third-party apps such as YouTube already had their own smaller volume HUD, and now the look is universal across iOS 11, as part of Apple's broader improvements to the native video player on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Apple introduced iOS 11 at its Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday. The first beta was seeded to registered developers later that day, to be followed by a public beta in late June. iOS 11 will be available as a free software update for all compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models around September.

Yes! It actually took YouTube forever to implement it as well, but when they finally did it was nice. When I'm watching video on a mobile device, it is highly likely I will be interrupted or distracted by something, and I ALWAYS want the ability to go back or forward 15 seconds. Same thing with audio. I want those 15 second backward/forward buttons there as well.Nice! Surprised nobody noticed until now? Don't let people fool you when they say iOS 11 doesn't change much. All of these small changes add up to a better user experience.
Now if only we could get them to implement the same double tap left/right on a video to skip back/forward 10 seconds that YouTube has. I find myself accidentally trying to do this in the native video controller all the time because it's so useful and intuitive.
The truly amazing part of Amazon video is X-ray, where you can get instant data on actors, locations, etc. for every frame of a movie or TV show, with all the backend provided by IMDB. This is where Apple needs to step up their game. Playing in the services area with real innovation, buying/working with interesting companies that don't necessarily build the bottom line, but make the ecosystem even more appealing & sticky by providing features/benefits for real enthusiasts/connoisseurs, not just ho-hum mainstream stuff. Now that Apple seems to be taking "Pros" seriously again, maybe they can start developing new ways of serving music, movie and TV lovers with best in class features/benefits.Have you used the Prime Video app at all? The single touch play/pause is amazing.
