I just hate it when people who aren't math proficient try to write a math proof..

Take it chill. It's not like knowing it will take 60 seconds to sell out will stop any one of us from pre-ordering at 12:01 sharp.

How is anyone going to securely checkout in 60 seconds? You have to choose shipping, etc. Buying full price or pre-approved, you still have to choose shipping, etc. I can see maybe 2 mins full checkout.

If there's no lag, I can be in and out in 30 seconds.

You cant speculate because all there is are analyst predictions on potential shipment numbers; no official statement from anyone how many are actually ready by 11/3.

From Forbes last week:

"DigiTimes reported yesterday that Foxconn, Apple’s largest builder of iPhones, shipped the first batch of 46,500 iPhone X’s (which is a drop in the bucket) but that production has ramped from 100,000 units a week to 400,000.

Raymond James Apple analyst, Tavis McCourt, published a note citing Cailian Press, a financial media outlet in China, that production was up to a daily run-rate of 250,000 units. This translates to almost 2 million per week so still a fair amount under what will be needed to satisfy demand."

As you can see the guesses are 400k per week to 250k per day; a HUGE range. Ie. no one really knows.

That's not true, Cook said "we'll see".. lol..

paying full price, in store pickup. I don't know, I did a dry run pretending to purchase an iphone 8 and it took a little over 30 seconds to go from picking the phone to being ready to put in my thumbprint for apple pay.

**** it just took me 42 seconds and that is not even picking a time window to pickup. so mine will be over a minute. Not sure how you did it in 30 seconds. Must be a full pay, cause mine was an upgrade next plan.

Yes i'll be paying in full, i guess that cuts out a bit of time, which would be great news for me. I'm guessing the people buying outright is a small % of the overall, and a huge % are going through carrier upgrade. I will do another dry run tonight to confirm the time. I wasn't exactly super strict with the timing.

No, I am not being an ******. I am simply pointing out a fact. Perhaps he can take extra time when writing down something and make sure the English is correct (I am not saying it should be perfect), before posting, instead of hastily typing in broken English which makes what he saying difficult to comprehend without careful reading.
Then don’t read it and skip the whole thread. Seriously, titrau’s posts might be fairly inscrutable, but he never sounds unpleasant. I find them fairly entertaining.

We're talking about ordering a phone here, not...

I think the variable here is when Apple has to access AT&T's servers to verify you.

Yes, but perhaps the person should get better at that language before using it on a global forum like MR? It's extremely hard to understand what this person is saying, and I have seen his other posts, same issue. It's honestly quite annoying reading broken English like that.

He could just write it in his native language and do a Google Translate, and I am sure it will come out better than him writing in that language in the first place, and it would be easier to read and understand.

Posts w/broken English = fine
TONS of mostly pointless threads/posts w/broken English = not fine

maybe this is secret preorder 1+2+ 3 = 24
so only 24 people worldwide got X

What about counting for supply for carrier pre-orders?

People won’t have the option to ship to their home? Everyone has to pickup at the Apple Store?
