It may seem like a small thing to get annoyed over, but this, to me, is one of their worse changes and I'm not sure I want to upgrade to iOS 5 now. How long can you really go without updating...? :S

Seriously? You're not sure if you want to upgrade because you have to click 'music' when listening to audio and 'videos' when viewing video?

I can't say I think it's an awesome change, but one benefit is that the bottom icons in the music app now have an extra available...which means I can give podcasts their own dedicated button, which saves a step for me (going to the ...More button).

What a pouty statement. I'm taking my ball and going home...

This is horrible, it's one more step between me and my content. Plus, the icons are frickin' ugly.

And it's not exactly accurate, is it? Having everything under "iPod" is fine, but the majority of my audio is radio shows/podcasts and now they will come under "music." And what happens with music videos? Do they go in music or videos? video podcasts?

Video Podcasts show up in both sides. Music Videos only show up in Videos.

It's nothing really to get your panties in a twist over. Create a folder called "Entertainment." Drag in Movie, Music, YouTube, Pandora, etc.

Done.

Not that difficult.

Well I don't use Pandora nor YouTube app.

Apple shouldn't have done this, like others have said, it's just another icon taking up space, why split it up in the first place?

You guys will whine about anything. Create an entertainment folder put all your music, video apps in the folder and move on with life.

I hate it just for the fact that there is another stock apple icon that I cannot remove.

Exactly. Between this and Newsstand ...

speaking of which... we better be able to remove that garbage, or throw it into a folder.

I just hate how the Music icon is a deeper orange than the iPod icon. It throws off the color balance I had on my homescreen.

I know, I'm very nit-picky.

I'm the same :p

That's while I'll change the icon back to the iPod one, it looks much better IMO :)

How is it one more step between you and your content? if anything, it's one step less, to get to videos before you had to go into iPod and go over to the videos tab. Now you just go straight into videos. It's more efficient this way. the iPod app was overcrowded.

Plus there's many features on iOS5 that are brill, to let this stop you is borderline insanity.

it's been split to line up the iPhone with the iPod Touch and iPad to have seperate music and video apps, uniformity across devices. Plus it's also to do with itunes match, which is currently music only, so it can work better.

Newsstand is a special folder. Folders cannot go into other folders. Just put it on the last page with the folder of stock apps that you can't remove.

It's an OCD thing for me. I won't let my self have multiple home screens. So I can't ever have more than a couple aftermarket apps downloaded at once. This will make for some restless nights

I don't care at all. The videos app will go into my Media folder and will never be touched again and the Music app will go where iPod was. Icon doesn't look too awful either.

I'm a bit annoyed that the app was split since I don't have any movies, so it will just be another empty useless app. My main issue is that the Music icon is disgustingly ugly. It's pretty much what I would call eye-rape, I really hope the icon changes before the release version.

"A phone, a widescreen iPod, an internet browser... a phone, a widescreen iPod, an internet browser.. are you getting it?"

This quote by Steve Jobs is no more valid, because the iPod app is gone.

But i think we should all try it out when iOS 5 is released, and if we don't like it, then we can all send mass emails to Tim Cook and it should be fine! :)

I currently have iPod on my dock, always there, always easy to get to my content.

I use half-pages for my other apps. I like the default apple apps first, then two pages of games, then the rest. Which means videos will probably be put with the rest.

So, for me, it's gone from iPOD > VIDEOS to SWIPE > SWIPE > SWIPE > SWIPE > VIDEOS.

Also, why would they put video podcasts under music but not videos? OR WHY PODCASTS IN MUSIC AT ALL? It's no longer a generic title, it's the exact opposite of half the app's function.

Oh Apple are so frustrating sometimes.

the icon won't change, it's the same one that's been on the iPod Touch since it came out, you'll just have to deal with it, i quite like it actually, simple and elegant.

lol, so you're moaning that apple has made it harder for you to get to your videos, when it's you making it so by putting it on that page giving yourself 3 extra steps to get to it instead of 1 less than you have now?! that's crazy talk. Also as the fella said earlier, Video Podcasts are under both Music and Video apps.

When I jailbroke my iPod touch this was one of the first things I did, unify the Music + Video with the tweak. I preferred the "iPod" icon. Although I'll be able to deal with this one.

I'm aware that it's the iPod touch music icon. I just feel that it doesn't fit with the rest of the stock icons. Even if they simply made the music note white it would look much better, as most of the other stock icons are a white symbol on coloured background. This is the only one with a dark symbol, its out of place.

EDIT: Like this

it's not out of place really, there's many apps with many different designs, so it's fine. also not all apple's stock apps are white symbols on a coloured background, like notes, safari, camera, photos, weather, contacts, compass, youtube, maps, remote & findmyiphone (ok those 2 are not stock apps, but still apple apps). the ones that are as you described are phone, messages and email, so actually FEW stock apps are white symbols on a coloured background.....
