I wholeheartedly agree. The camera is the only complaint (relatively speaking) I have about my 4G Touch.it better not be slimmer, ipod touch NEEDS a better camera
who needs an ipod touch when you have an iphone...
Who needs to pay £900+ on something when they could pay £300 or less for an iPod and a crap phone!
Doesn't surprise me if it happens. I've been saying that all along, though I get no pleasure at the thought of being 'right' on this. I'd much rather be mistaken and see an iPhone4-ish iPod Touch. Not gonna happen,

I was afraid this would happen. Is Apple going to kill the Touch? We won't know for sure until next year and see if a redesigned Touch comes out but this would be the first step. One would be better off now getting a used 4or 3GS off contract. This would explain the lack of leaks. The only one we had was the white front piece that actually confirms this latest news.
Very sad news for the Touch fans right now. I don't see much reason to buy one now but we can hope.
Ah, if it were a piece of paper, you could fold it into your shirt pocket, then pull it out, unfold it and have a 5" or 7" or 10" screen!
Eventually, we will get to foldable e-paper with all the features (not sure where the speaker goes, though!)
There could still be some good things in the Touch 5G . It is a tossup as to which CPU but if it does have the A5 then that's a good thing and I think that has 512meg standard. They could also lower the price. those two things would make it worth buying. A better screen is still a possibility, they did say it had some improvements.sad news for me.if it's true then i was stupid when i sold my 4G
Yep.either way it doesn't make sense to not get the A5.i was also hoping for a bigger screen if the iPhone was getting one.But still nothing is sure until the official keynoteThere could still be some good things in the Touch 5G . Keep your spirits up!
In the latest rumor on the front page it indicates there will be only one new iphone. Looks like the iPhone 5 won't be here this year which makes sense since there are no reports of any being built.
What MacRumors left out was that there could be a second device just not an iPhone.
Here is the text they ignored from the wedge report.
http://www.bgr.com/2011/09/21/wedge-apples-iphone-4s-will-be-only-new-model-to-launch-this-year/
"But Wedge Partners does expect another device to be unveiled at Apple’s upcoming event: a 3G-enabled iPod touch. Blair says the iPod’s cellular data option will work just like the iPad, allowing users to purchase data plans on a month-to-month basis with no contractual obligations. The notion of a 3G iPod touch aligns with earlier rumors."
PS: more info from a report by appleinsider: http://www.appleinsider.com/article...le_will_only_release_iphone_4s_this_year.html
"As for iPods, Blair predicts Apple will discontinue the hard drive-based iPod classic while offering a updated iPod touch with an improved camera offering 2-3 megapixels rather than the current VGA resolution suitable only for FaceTime chats. The iPod touch is also expected to be sold in white and offer 3G data service plans similar to 3G iPad models."

Now these rumors I like! true or not at least we have hope.
they won't kill itI really hope Apple doesn't kill the Touch line. Of all the new features that might be on a speculative iPhone 5, I would use everything EXCEPT voice. Don't need a data plan, I just like being able to listen to music and watch video on trips w/o having to pay a fee every month. If Apple kills the Touch I dunno what I will do.![]()
