iPod touch iPod Touch 5G Release Date

the 64GB is $399 without tax but the NY tax is weird because its based on county not state $440 should cut it. :)

I just called up and they have 3 in stock! I'll be picking mine up tomorrow after school :D This is Lower Hutt Dicksmith. I rang The Warehouse and they said they would be getting them on the 25th, the earliest. Harvey Norman have no idea. Looks like I'm going with Dicksmith again! (Bought my 4th Gen from them also, seems like they always release them first!) Good Luck finding one in the Hawkes Bay area!
 
Finally went to preparing for shipment today! I'm looking for around the 24th to ship. I ordered a red 32GB engraved on the 22nd of September just in case anyone was wondering.
 
Ordered Mine on the 20th from Best Buy and I just received both iPod Touches yesterday. Its going to be hard not to want to give these things to my kids before xmas but I shall remain strong.

LOL, same here. Bought my kids IPT's for Christmas also but having a hard time wanting to wait. Kinda promised them a couple items for previous birthdays that I said this will replace if they wanted them early. But of course they wanted to wait till Christmas. Of course they have no idea what the gift is or I'm sure they would want them now. Funny when you are more excited to GIVE the gift then the person its intended for.:D

Hey It Shipped on the 16th! Apple says it will be here on the 22nd but fedex say it will be here tomorrow! It is on the flight from Anchorage,AK.:D

Hi there! Thought I'd let you know, I went into my Local DickSmith and picked one up today!! I got the 32GB in Blue, it looks so much better than in the photos :eek:.

Awesome! Got mine about an hour ago. 32GB in Black and ordered some super cheap cases from Ebay. (Gonna be super OCD with it until they come) Haven't opened it yet though! Waiting until later tonight :) Looking forward to comparing it with my 4th gen.

Cool as! When I went in they said no one had asked for them, And they only had 2 in stock. I feel special :D. Oh, and one interesting feature I've found that no one else has mentioned is that it has a much better audio codec than the Last Touch, so it has really good sound quality :D

Oooh really? I convert mine to 128kbps to get my whole library on there, will it make a difference? I find it crazy thin and light! A bit too so, need a case asap. The screen is also amazing. The black is sooo sleek, just looks like a bar of black.

I think that'll still make a difference, But it'll still be better I Recon. I use Sennheiser Headphones when out and Dr Dre Beat Pro's at home, and I think they run much better on the Sennheisers which are more Treble based. I think the best EQ setting on the Touch at the moment would be R&B as it adds bass to some songs which lack it, without compromising the Treble :)

Awesome, I'll give that a try. Also, does your home button move ever so slightly? If you put a bit of pressure on it and push left to right can you feel it moving? Mine moves and it makes it feel like it is going to break...

Yeah it does for some reason. And instead of being inside the casing a little bit (as usual) the home button on this one sticks out a little for me o_O

Do you use Newsstand? Any chance you could try Stiflestand and see if it works? It doesn't seem to work for me... maybe its a 5g problem.

Woah no broadband! That's a first. Took so long for my songs to sync, about 4000 took around 5 hours... how about yours? Unless you don't convert your music?

Yeah I know! Dial-Up speeds here are at 760 Bytes per second! So lm always relying on my iPad :L. I synced about 650 Songs, 1200 Photos And about 12 Apps straight up and it took around 20Mins.
I don't convert them though, I leave the entire collection to the Suped-Up Classic I built last year with a 500GB HDD :D
 
Would like to hear more about picking up iPod Touch 5 at an Apple Store or retail store,
rather than "I bought it online" or "pre-ordered it".

buying online is actually faster than buying it in stores as of right now. i went to best buy on Oct 17 and they said they didnt have it so i ordered a 32gb model online at best buys website the same day and it came the next day.
 
I tried calling every store near me in london and they all say they dont have any in stock and they dont know when they will recieve the stock. I wanted to get one before this friday. I duno if i should wait and buy one in stores or to just buy it online
