Probably at the normal time for them, i.e. 9:40-9:42 AM PDT.When do you think they will announce it? Their website hasn't change yet this morning.

How long till then? I'm in the UK so have no idea when that is.
Yep, just 3 hours left, and naturally I'm getting really excited for a new iPod.3 hours, so around 7/8 this evening. Hopefully, lol.
I respectfully disagree. There is no way they would include an A9 chip in it. The fact that it will look exactly the same shows that their mentality about keeping it behind the iPhone hasn't changed.
A fast processor would be a pretty decent upgrade, though, as the current iPod Touch lags like hell with some games and web pages.Sadly, I agree. I think Apple is making a mistake tho by crippling the iPod. There is absolutely ZERO danger of the iPod touch canabalizing the iPhone, So why not give it some kick ass specs? Get people excited about it again. Give it a camera that equals or even betters the iPhone's. Market it as the new best pocketable camera. Give it something to brag about. People would buy it in droves. Reenergize sagging sales.
I'm still gonna get one, because my iPod touch 5 died, but I hope Apple gives it more than just a faster processor.

The Touch would be better than the iPhone if they did that with its much cheaper price.True. I'll take it. But I was just expressing what I think the untapped potential of the iPod touch could be. I think it's still relevant, and can live side by side with the iPhone without keeping it behind it. Apple is just missing a great opportunity here to create something special with the iPod touch. My hope is that they see it too, and not let the touch merely survive, when it can truly thrive.
Isn't time for at least another 2 hours, though. So be patient, and it'll probably come.![]()
Well, it's only about an hour until we know for sure when the release time will be.Is there any record of this type of silent update (no Keynote) happening at 9:42 PDT? I thought most silent updates just appeared on the store overnight.

It could still come today. Somebody else said to me that one of the releases (an iMac one) happened around 6 PM his time (not sure what timezone, though). Now what?
Ha. I love the optimism of this thread
To add a little more, I imagine the 6pm person was in the U.K. 6pm GMT is the usual time of Apple's 10am keynotes. 9minutes...
It's still the 14th. Maybe all the wait is is too much attention was paid to the normal release time.
Well, they can't keep selling the A5-powered iPod Touch much longer. It's PRIMITIVE.
They will either kill the Touch or release a new one.
They used to, they haven't updated the touch in a couple years though so any old patterns don't necessarily mean too much.Wait, don't they do iPods in early September though?
The current 5th Generation still says 1-3 business days for shipment, I would think that we would start to see those increase in length before a new launch.
