THE SOLUTION

1: PLUG YOUR IPOD INTO YOUR COMPUTER!!!


2: HOLD THE "HOLD" AND THE "MENU" BUTTON UNTIL THE TOUCH'S SCREEN GOES BLACK AND SHOWS THE APPLE LOGO AGAIN THEN RELEASE THE BUTTONS!!!


3: WAIT ABOUT 5-15 MINUTES!!!


4: YOUR COMPUTER WILL MAKE A "CHIME" SOUND AND THEN THE IPOD WILL SHOW THE LOCKED SCREEN WITH THE BATTERY LOGO...

This works every time for me when my ipod crashes, the screen is stuck on the apple logo or if the screen goes white...

ah!!!!! its not helping me!! help!!!!!!! ah!!!!!! when i go through and do this it does it and in about 10 or so minutes it goes to a black screen and then goes to a charge screen. its there for about five minutes and then goes back to the black screen with the white apple logo... and then about another five or so minutes, it goes all the way black then goes back to the black screen with the white apple logo again... what do i do?????????? please send me an email if u have a solution!!! miranda.davis74@yahoo.com

this did not work. nothing does. my ipod has the logo for 5 mins, turns white for 2 secs, turns black for 2 secs, and starts again hhhhheeeelllllppp!!!!!!!!! email suggestions to jmoroney@stjosephsby.wa.edu.au

Try putting it in to dfu mode (device firmware upgrade mode) and then restore

Putting into dfu mode,
Step one reboot, hold down lock and home button until screen goes black
Step two dfu mode, strait after screen goes black let go both buttons then hold lock button for three seconds, while still holding lock button press and hold home button, two seconds after screen goes black let go of lock button but still holding home button until iTunes recognizes iPod in recovery mode dfu mode then restore

So I did this but instead of getting the Black Apple screen, I'm getting the Plug to you iTunes screen. Am I doing something wrong? My iPod Touch just went black last night with the white bar at the top with the battery and time, I tried charging and when that didn't work I plugged it into the computer to sync it ans also did the Upgrade that was available. That's when I got the black screen with the Apple and now I have the screen telling me to plug to iTunes. Anyone know what else I can try?

basically my music and video app wasn't working so i tried to restore my ipod and it wouldn't let me so i restored it from the ipod by erasing all and now it is stuck on the apple logo i can not get it off can anyone please help

I try the two buttons, but my iPod is completley frozen.
Sometimes, i don't know why, it restarts again... I really need my iPod Touch.
It's just stuck on the apple logo, and when it restarts, the thing goes round and round.. and stops...oh pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaassssssseeeeeeeee help me.

Another option

Found another option because none of the above worked for me (link below). Followed manual install link and saved download into my itunes file as an ipsw file. Went to itunes hit restore and it worked. Didn't crash during restore as it had previously.

i am having the same problem, only it's worse because i jailbroke when it became legal. my ipod was acting up and i wanted to delete my apps anyway so i went Settings>General>Reset Settings>Erase and Sync because i thought it would be easier than restoring using iTunes. it said it would take about an hour so i figured i would watch it to make sure it started and then walk away. it was done within 5-6 minutes and started turning back on. it did the regular logo on bootup then switched to the greenpois0n apple, did the same thing it usually does, then all of a sudden white screens and starts the process over again. i cannot get it to shut off or anything and i need help. going on big trip tomorrow and want to use my ipod touch. guess i'll try the hold button home button thing. if it doesn't work i'll post again, i really will try anything you guys say.

Did not work for me. Its been 12hrs since it hanged up on the apple logo. Itunes also can't detect my itouch..HELP!!!

I have the same problem with the ipod stuck on apple logo with loading circle.
It happened after i erased all data and settings on ipod..
the beforementioned approaches dont work.
itunes doesnt see the ipod at all. (neither does the computer)

I just sold it and now im screwed!!
Can someone please help!
