reading on other fourms people in japan are starting to receive there ipod touches from apple orders so i dare say by friday i think everyone should be able to get one from stores this is a guest but

wow so lucky. Give us your impressions on your new toy :)
I wish I didnt cancel my 1st pre-order ( I thought I could get one in Apple Store )
Just ordered it again, should be delivered next week at best :(

This thing is awesome. I have several complaints, like I am unable to copy full-size pictures to the touch from my iPhoto library, when that was a standard feature on other iPods. It am generally getting used to the interface quite quickly. Enabling the Japanese keyboard was a snap. This thing definitely needs some work, but what version 1.1.1 product doesn't. Another surprising thing is this is a week 38 iPod already had 1.1.1 installed. The videos I have played so far look okay, but I will be calling Apple soon to see about getting a replacement that can display the page linked to on the page I posted without issues.

In Nagoya!

I went to the Nagoya store and we now have the iPod touch.

My first impressions were WOW! What a neat interface and the screen was giant compared to my little Nano. Pictures and videos look awesome.

And as impressive as it is I just can't justify buying a 3rd iPod

Once I return to the states though, I'll be picking up an iPhone for sure.

Yap - available in Osaka store today as well. Unfortunately only 8 GB model. They mentioned that 16 will come soon as well. They had two different covers in the store for the 8 Gig ... hope they are all without black screen issue. They had a couple of them on the table to play around with as well. Very cool. Looking forward to my 16 GB Touch shipment hopefully next week :)

Only tried it in the store and loved it for its "smoothness" - frankly was most impressed with the ability to surf the web ... first device that is small in size yet good enough to get the information I need on its screen. Honestly, I was not so impressed with the typing function - I know I will improve my skill but do not believe it will ever be same speed vs. devices like blackberry. All in all worth the price and the best IPOD ever. Not sure whether I would buy into an Iphone given the typing system.

The iPod feature always crashes when surfing the web. It is realy's starting to piss me off.
