I have only recently got the Touch (a topic discussed in another thread) and love it. However, it was acquired to complement my classic, and much as I love the Touch (and it is stunning), I have to admit that for music (which is what I still mostly use it for) the click-wheel function on the classic is still better than the exquisite screen of the Touch for navigation and changing tracks. In any case, I agree with smiddlehurst, different iPods fulfil different functions and I have two, a 64GB Touch and a 80GB classic both of which I use daily.

Cheers

Well it's old....

But yes, for music i would. It's way easier to deal with while driving. I still use my mostly busted (ha, the click wheel no less) Video iPod to listen in the car.

However, i didn't buy my Touch for music really - so i'm not sure that counts...

Since the Touch's alarm function doesn't include playing your music for the alarm sound (really, why couldn't Apple have included this feature?), I recently found myself dragging out my Nano to set it up as a wake-up alarm, and using the click wheel to navigate the menu system drove me mad. The click wheel is good for the basic music playback commands (play/pause, next/previous song, volume control). Anyhting else, the touch interface wins hands down.

I much prefer the clickwheel interface of my full size iPods to the touch interface of my iPhone.

My iPod's headphone jack gave out over the Summer and I had to use my iPhone while I waited for the part to arrive. Missed my iPod terribly, the clickwheel's just so much more intuitive.

I still have my classic iPod, which I use for travel, and as an external drive for bits and bobs. I really don't think the scroll wheel is going to be getting that much use, however. I find the touch so much more pleasing to use.
