The photo is a fake, but does anyone think the next iPod could look much different?

My gut says... real! There are reasons to be suspicious, but there are also reasons to think it's real. And there is no PROOF either way, not that I've seen in reading this thread.
Well, here's some stuff to think over, especially having some characters in your signature. You seem like the agnostic who can prove it is impossible to prove there is/isn't a god. To the contrary, I can prove there isn't. Er, a 6G iPod before me anyway.
Why: The best evidence is pointing out that label on it. The cardboard one. Who cuts/folds a piece of brown paper or cardboard like that? Who writes Chinese (I know no word like that in Japanese), trying hard to retrace the lines, modeling it clearly after a typed font - notice in the first character there is this part where two lines almost come together but don't, instead becoming somewhat parallel; those lines should either meet and/or the one on the bottom should curve the opposite direction. There is also an element common to both which is written exactly how it appears in certain fonts, but is not how it is written (the part on the left side of each character). The dots are awkwardly placed. The flick on the tukuri for power is not a flick but a perpendicular line. My point is, this fake Chinese label is not the work of a illiterate Chinese, but the work of a person copying the font off a computer.
It doesn't end there. Where is this fake label put? Why, on the power cord, of course. Wait a minute...on the power cord? Why tailored (folded) to the power cord, like it applies to the power cord and not to the alleged ipod? I can think of one reason - to cover up the label on the power cord. The only legitimate reason would be because the powercord needs returning or something, as if apple needs to redesign a power cord. Lol.
But that doesn't mean the hoaxer is too lazy to photoshop this thing. Notice that the screen reflects on the border where there are white rectangles. At first glance, that looks ok, but you get to thinking...in the upper right corner, how come I see very little visible difference between a reflected rectangle and an unreflected rectangle? Shouldn't something nearly as bright reflect nearly as much? Why doesn't the yellow one reflect at all? Or the cyan? Better yet, how come there are highlights on the right but only a light smudge and a tint at the corner to the left? (Overall, the light appears to come from top left, yet right side is most reflective?) Looks funky if you ask me.
Well, light could behave strangely in photos, so there's no use arguing there. But can anyone explain why the label is the way it is (fake and conveniently placed, folded)? That's a toughie.
Sure, the "8" looks like a "B". So what? The tag is yellowed from age and the translucency is unnatural. And making a tag is fairly easy. Let's think...why would there be a barcode on a prototype or finished product, directly on the screen, as if intentionally asserting authenticity? Why neatly in a corner, yet covering part of the screen? Barcodes are used to scan. Give me one reason someone would scan this, as is, without a box or anything. Well, it ain't to scan the retail price. Someone more experienced with barcodes might tell you what that might be. All I know is that it's not even symmetrical, and usually at least the ends are...though not always.
And seriously...would the 6G iPod look all that different? It'll definitely be white, be of similar proportions, etc. The power cable (which also looks like a misfit) hopefully doesn't come with fake chinese labels. But, this isn't a tablet either. Umm, that's pretty obvious from the apparent size of some of the other stuff on the screen, I'd think. But then, the tablet COULD end up looking sorta like this fakie, IF there is going to be a tablet and IF it makes you happy to think that. Anyway, the pic is rather fake, even if you ONLY consider the fake Chinese. If you can just simply ignore that, then I venture to say you are biased. Why else would a neutral person think that could be legitimate Chinese?
