iPods, Notebooks, and... iMacs before the Holidays?

cause funnily enough, they keep saying theyll get stock in soon..
then keep pushing the dates foward...
perhaps suggesting they think theyre going to get new stock soon, but then know theyre not getting new mbps for a while? :D cause of an update perhapss :p

I officially give up. I've been waiting since June to buy my first apple computer for college, watching these forums for hours upon hours, and was going to try to wait for the fabled new Macbook. But since I'm renting a Sony Vaio by the week, I can't afford to wait any longer. I actually loveee this computer, plus my friend's Macbook didn't impress me very much once I actually started using it. Nothing struck me as amazing, and it froze up just like any other PC. So whatever, Apple. Maybe I'll see you in a few years. :(

P.S. Some might suggest just buying the current one, but I would be kicking myself in the pants for not waiting if the new one does happen to come out soon. I'd rather not have to put myself through that.

Be thankful you're not waiting for an updated Mini.... At least MB's are on the horizon.:mad:
 
Really hoping for the 23rd or 30th. I'm going to be needing a MBP pretty quick for university... The really heavy Toshiba I have now is not cutting it... Do you guys honestly think they'd do iPods and Macbook Pro's in the same month? Has it happened before?
 
If there IS a quad core one, I will be so happy. If they're only out in October, at least let us order or SEE them in advance so I don't buy a current one for uni! Relying on iPhone for a while will be fun...

Is this Tuesday at all possible?? After the back to school and.. it's a Tuesday!

I got an email from Apple about buying on a lease... I'm considering it. It's not only for businesses is it? And can you get education discount on it!?
 
I'm happy to see an announcement next Tuesday and that they will arrive in 2-3 weeks time. At least KNOWING for sure will ease the pain!

As much as I would honestly LOVE to see them next tuesday, don't you think it would be a little too close to the iPod launch? You wouldn't want to steal the thunder of one of your flagship products, even if the thief is another flagship product. Does that sound reasonable?
 
so when is the next "quiet" update for iMac/Mini price cuts and new MacBooks?
 
man i seriously can't wait for the update anymore, I'm planning to buy an iMac, a Mac Mini and a MacBook Pro.s

How do you know there is an announcement next Tuesday (Do you mean the 16th?) and that they are then arriving in 2-3 weeks? Is that a fact ? I really hope so, am getting impatient, I wanted to get a macpro since april, I was then waiting for June due to rumors, well , and then it was procrastenated over and over again. And I am still on my Powerbook G4, so I really want a faster machine. :D.

Damn that logic omega, please just tell me they'll come this month so I can have my illusion :D. If I am honest I completely agree, I actually think that 4-6 weeks would be a good time to go from one release to the next.
 
As much as I would like to have a new MB/MBP before MWSF09 I guess we are not going to see that happen and will have to wait. The logic to me is clear:

1 - It's not usual to see two special events this close to MWSF (one is normal for ipod refresh)
2 - Typically there have been updates to MB's in October/November when there was a Core Duo -> Core 2 Duo transition or similar internal changes, the kind that are no noticeable by common people (macrumors users alike don't count).
3 - Since this "Let's Rock" has been a completely lackluster event, I don't see Apple calling again the media for another event.
4 - A change in the external appearance of the MB/MBs deserves a couple of BOOMs to say the least, hence only MWSF09 seems to be a plausible event for this kind of announcement, unless Apple considers the macbook line to be completely accessorial.

The only way I can think of a MB/MBP update before MWSF is an internal one, and that won't cut for several of the people waiting for a real refresh. In any case, I really hope that time will prove me wrong, though.
 
Ok, so they've updated the iPhone and iPods, now it's time for macs. I've been waiting since at least January (as far as I can remember), so I would really like to see these sometime soon. I guess Jobs is just in no hurry to have me switch from PC to Mac.

When is MWSF09?
 
Would they allow having as little macbooks as they do now, and less, in stores all the way until MWSF?

Didn't they tell retailers to stock up through August? It would make sense that they would wait until October, but no later..

Hmm, I think people misconstrued my post. I was just HOPING that they would announce them next week at an arrival time of 2-3 weeks and that knowing would ease the pain of waiting :D I wish I really did know! :(
