Theyre are similar to chocolate M&Ms but are about twice the size and have nicer chocolate inside.

How about keeping the moronic liberal chatter away from this thread. Thanks buddy.

Press Conference question

So IF their were to be an announcement, how would it happen?

Would they schedule a press conference?
How can one find out when a press conference is scheduled?

just check the apple.com splash page... i for one am sick of doing so though, and have all but given up on the ipod... maybe next year...

I'm sick of checking, too. I think I threatened to unsubscribe from this post before. Now I'm definitely out.

Been real, gang. I'll see ya at the 'store' when they DO get released.

Hey, in the event that I finally get the 20 gig, have any of you heard anything about the belkin ipod cover? I saw it at best buy yesterday and it was only $20 and it has a clear plastic over the front that protects the screen yet has the circle for the touchwheel. I have my heart set on a glowing iskin but the belkin has a belt clip and the iskin just has a stupid loop. I'm sure lurking on these BBs is a whole manifesto on ipod covers but I'm lazy.

There is an iPod discount promo running until the end of March, so I wouldn't expect anything new until then.

Smarties

I know this is way off topic, but smarties are different in the U.S. than they are in Canada and possibly other parts of the world. Smarties in America are little tabs of sugar that are oh so delicious (I've had these many many times). Smarties in other places are, for lack of a better word, oversized m&ms. I have had theses chocoaalte smarties in Canada.
Now let this topic not be dicussed anymore.
BTW
Yeah, let's do a hunger strike for the new iPods (and against the war).
I agree:D

I thought that ended the 14th... making this Tuesday the first Tuesday after the promo.... Of course the bombs might be dropping as early as tomorrow (AFAIK), so maybe not. Stupid wars, getting in the ways of fabricated Apple release schedules.... :p

Ahh, so according to you liberals are morons, right?
... At least I _mentioned_ the iPod in my 'oh so liberal' post, staying away from the Smarties - M&Ms affair (I have always seen them both in a tube - at least in Spain).
Next time, just try to _actually_ say something, instead of insulting your threadmates. It'll be better for the mood.

As for the presumed iPod update, I think all this Iraq situation is going to hurt the economy a lot. These affairs can affect a company's strategy, affecting the economy of consumers and boosting up fabrcation/transportation costs, so the infamous 'Azores trio' (the REAL morons) may have actually affected future product introductions by Apple and many other companies. If Apple promised to innovate, they would have to do their best to fight their way out of an incoming recession (let's hope it doesn't ever happen, I wouldn't want to lose my job). Imagine how they will be feeling about the delayed PowerBooks that are selling in a couple of weeks? Bad time to start marketing that product.

Maybe the promo is only in Australia. But it ends March 28.

A successful war, which this will most likely be, will do wonders for the economy. Look at the Dow and NASDAQ today (3/17) alone. The end of the uncertainty rallied the markets, and will continue to do so. If you want to get into a discussion of capital markets, econometrics, interest rate theory, and so on, feel free to talk with me outside this thread. But ultimately, I view closure to the uncertainty as a major factor in helping to boost consumer spending. Especially if the win is quick and easy, as expected, confidence will be running high and people will continue to spend on items such as this. (And don't say ignorant things about the "Azores trio" being morons, as the required number of votes for a successful security council resolution have actually been gathered, and the vote is only being rejected because of the (worthless) French). There are just too many people making comments when they really do not understand all of the factors behind global actions, and simply voice a wrong opinion just to jump on a bandwagon. Obviously this is getting off topic again, so I will end it here and leave it at this. Regardless, Apple will be able to market their product successfully (iPod) in the current economy, especially after a decisive win in Iraq.

I'm betting a big fat NO on updates and/or pricedrops tomorrow. I just received an email from the Apple store for education, promoting various products. Including the 10gb ipod for $369 (which is the current price with the ed. discount). I highly doubt that they would have sent out this email with this price today, if they planned to lower the price tomorrow.

Could you post said email? Might help fuel wild speculation.... ;)

Hi, so we're getting off topic again, eh? I just can't stand people making such gratuitous about anybody who think different than them. Don't dare to say I (or anyone) don't understand all of the factors behind global actions. So we have to assume you KNOW them all, right? The US and Britain have lied to the world presenting made-up proofs to the security council, and they have even admitted it.

Yes, I know about the exchanges and their slight raise (spanish exchanges did the same move) after the nefarious disrespect for the UN stating that the time for war has come. It's a pity the DJ or Nasdaq don't include the cost in human lives to calculate their indices.
A successful resolution? Oh come on. Russia, China and/or France would have vetoed it for sure. The US wouldn't even have the required majority of 9 votes.

Worthless French... yes, that is very polite from you; so the US is going to do what they want disrespecting the world opinion and international rules, and you still bother to call the French 'worthless'. It's frightening how some people support something like a war so lively.

I know I don't have all the answers (then again, who does), but I am an informed person (maybe more than I'd like to, considering the outlook of things). What you call a wrong opinion is simply an opinion different to yours; and my opinion is the same that was stated by many americans. Let the Inspections Work. Too bad they didn't have a chance... Now let's see what Blix and Al-Baradei have to say to the Security Council this afternoon.

Phew, that was way off topic. So let's get on line again. iPods... uh, yes, I'm still waiting for my iPod to arrive. I feel it's going to be a great buy (see, I'm not boycotting american products; just don't tell me Rumsfeld is a relative of Steve Jobs, or has a big share of Apple :)).
I just checked my order status and was wondering... why do they ship this thing from Taiwan? Good thing shipping was free.

this is REALLY off topic, but to balance youre opinion with mine.

I started off fairly anti-war a few months ago, but Saddam has had 12(!!!!) years to disarm. The inspectors werent supposed to be searching for arms, Saddam was supposed to be SHOWING them where they were. Only with military threats did he give way slightly on the restrictions of the inspectors and volunteering small pieces of info. Remember the Iraqi people are not aware of the missles which were destroyed.

This could easily go on for another 12 years if left as it was. Unfortunatly military force is the only way to go, and the UN needs a big kick up the arse as well for ignoring it for so long and not giving the inspectors the backing they should have had.

Everytime i see anti war protests it reminds me of Kosovo were many were being murdered and still the UN refused to do anything, and protestors were anti-action. In the end NATO went in without a UN mandate and this is similar.

anyway, i didnt expect to write so much and i apologise for going off topic, now can we please leave it.

yep it's down! :))
