Iran iPhone Ban Looms Unless Apple Registers With Anti-Smuggling Scheme

Sometimes I shake my head, I do now.
He is kinda right, I traveled a lot, before I traveled 2 years in a row and visited about 40 countries, in all that time I never had problems, flew back to Europe for a short stay and I cycled from Paris to The Netherlands, I camped out the first night and got me right into problems.
I have been in Iran, as I said in an earlier post here it's one of the nicest countries in the world, and yes, much-MUCH safer than either the US or the UK.
People are the nicest in the world.
Did I talk about politics there, yes I did and about lots of other stuff you shouldn't talk about, there is even Alcohol if you know your way.
VISIT it first before you comment on something you don't know anything about, and do you really believe all the news sites, well, if that's the case you really don't know anything.
I could really write a book about it why EU/US citizens are so brainwashed by what you here/read, it's mostly garbage.

** This is directed to many posters here, I just picked out you.

I really wish everyone would pay a visit like you did before commenting on the country...Any plans for visiting again? :)

Yes, much safer than traveling in free western democracies. So brainwashed by this U.S. propaganda:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-freed-american-hikers-speak-on-their-captivity-in-iran/

http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/17/world/american-detainees-iran/

No offense but western due process does not exist in Iran. It's a fact. So, no it's not truly safe to travel there -- not my option, but that of professional diplomats on the ground there, and who's job it is to issue advisory's to it's government's citizens. The fact you travel there unscathed means you traveled there unscathed. Nothing more. People do get arrested, detained w/o true case.

Let me put it another way -- I live in metro DC. I've never seen anyone murdered here. I've never seen drugs sold in the streets. That doesn't mean murders don't happen here or drugs are not sold. It means I've never seen these things personally. But one can't base reality only on things they have personal experience with. That's called living in a bubble.

Edit: this just in: another American goes missing in Iran - http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-san-diego-detained-iran-20160721-snap-story.html

Apple should withhold and refuse until they get their human rights in check. :)
Recall that Apple is working to create phones that even they can't break into. And the Iranian government is trying to assemble a detailed list of every phone in the country - I'm sure they have no nefarious motives in that. I'd venture a guess that having iPhones that the Iranian government can't tap, that are getting smuggled into Iran, is doing more to help those in the country interested in human rights (who get better odds of communicating without the government listening in), than any public criticism / political gesture direct from Apple could do.
