I’m with Bernie. I’m voting for whoever pledges to defund military aid to Israel. Completely.

The time is long overdue for members of Congress to listen to the American people and end US military aid to the extremist Netanyahu government

Bernie is a multi-millionaire do nothing charlatan career politician who pretends to care about various social justice causes so you will keep voting him in instead of allowing fresh faces in politics.

A number of Arab states support Israel’s resistance against the Iranian regime and made peace with Israel years ago because Israel stands for civilization, education, science and modernity. The processor in the device you are using right now was designed in Israel, not Iran or Pakistan or Afghanistan.

But anti-Semitic western racists love seeing Jewish blood getting spilled so they pretend that Israel is evil and encourage backwards Islamists to murder Jews for them.

Israel stands for civilization, education, science and modernity.

Sure it does. 🤔

I never claimed I did…whereas you did. See the difference? Also…

I never claimed I did whereas you did. And israel still is an ally. And the anti-semitism displayed in this thread is unfortunately reflected outside. However Israel still has support.

The American people want Israel as our close alley and friend.

Please show your personal survey of the entirety of “The American People” that supports your claim.

We’ll wait….

So, anyone who disagrees with Israel’s indiscriminate bombing is an anti-Semitic racist? What a joke.
If Israel is going to continue with the Netanyahu corrupt government…they can do it without US aid IMO

You edited the wiki article?
No - I did a google search replacing Palestinian with Israeli, and a different Wikipedia article came up, where the word “allege” is used. In other words, your argument was BS. Hope I don’t need to spell it out.

So, anyone who disagrees with Israel’s indiscriminate bombing is an anti-Semitic racist? What a joke.

It is indiscriminate encampment by Islamists which leads to citizens being trapped in crossfire. Islamists always encamp themselves where civilians are and then use violence to make citizens submit to their encampment and colonization.

There has been no bigger murderer and colonizer of Arabs than the Islamist terrorist groups. They colonized southern Lebanon with Iran’s financial assistance to terrorize the Israelis and the Lebanese Christians.

The Jordanian Islamist groups invaded southern regions of British Palestine and then created a false identity of “Arab Palestinians” when in fact for centuries Arabs spat on the word “Palestine”. It’s not an Arabic word.

The only “Palestinians” in history were a small tribe of Greek pirates who were hated by the Egyptians, hated by the Israelites and hated by the Assyrians and hated by the Persians.

When the Romans tried to erase the Jews from the planet they forcibly renamed Judea as “Syria Palestina” and that’s how this abomination “Palestine” continued to exist. Jews were being forced to call themselves “Palestinians” for centuries because the Romans and then Byzantine empire wanted to erase Jewish identity.

But they could not erase the Jews. In the sixth century the Jews and Samaritans were still revolting against being ruled over. So the Romans and Byzantines created Islam and this fake prophet Muhammad, they sent spies down into Arabia with bribery money to tell the Arabs to convert to this new religion, and then they asked the Arabs to go murder the Jews on behalf of Rome and Byzantine.

Proof? The Quran is written in a Syrian dialect not native to Arabia and during the time Muhammad was supposed to be alive the Jews, Samaritans and Arabs were fighting together against the European empires. None of that is mentioned in the chronicles of Muhammad because his story was made up a century later. It’s silly to believe god writes books anyway.

Ever since then the Arab world has suffered from this false religion, the prophet who didn’t exist, and the sky god that doesn’t exist. The suffering has escalated in recent decades because western Marxist groups have been encouraging the Islamist groups to become even more violent towards western nations and Jews and to then migrate illegally to western nations to vote for Marxist parties.

The Islamist-Marxist alliance is the worst beast that humanity has faced since the Soviet Union, Mao’s China and Nazism. Arab states such as the UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia have stamped out and banned this alliance of Marxists, the IRGC and the Muslim Brotherhood. Wake up and grow a pair if you care about freedom and prosperity.

It is their country. America and Israel attacked it, so who is the aggressor? Who is the terrorist? Who is the child murderer?

Let's just ignore a whole history of Iranian terrorism, proxy wars and targeting of United States military personnel and civilians, including the President of United States. An invading force from the south and actual missiles from the north fired into Israeli civilian population centers (a war crime). But that does not count? Why defend a regime that murdered 35,000 unarmed civilians in ten days and claimed they planned to turn New York into a hellish ruin through nuclear war? Dunno -- seems a little myopic to me.

Do you have a reply to my multiple statements that actually both sides are in the wrong? Both sides are aggressors without an implementable right to the area? Or have you just picked a side and will blindly attack anyone who isn’t with you?

If the US was a purveyor of peace, they would not pick a side, and attack the other. They would work for peace, or at least an improvement of the situation, between the two aggressors. But they are not - they have clearly demonstrated and openly stated their willingness to take lives to maintain control of the oil. Which makes them exactly zero percent better than Iranians. It doesn’t mean the Iranians are not bad - it means that so are you.

You all sound like kindergarten kids - “but mom, he kicked me first”.

🤮

In a way I think we should all admire the commitment to an ideology that such a post requires.

My reply is that people should know enough to be able to decipher right and wrong. Indeed, moral neutrality in the face of injustice is a form of complicity. America is misguided at times, of course, but the underlying principles of liberty and its commitment to human rights is a moral good. Iran, with its particular radical version of a political/religious ideology that seeks to conquer and destroy "others" is a moral wrong. This thread has outlined the many actions by Iran (both in the region and to its own population), which justify the actions against it.

So, to answer your question, I would say people should pick a side. Take a stand. Dispense with the moral relativism. The two sides, America and Iran, are not the same. "Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act." -- German pastor and anti-Nazi theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Well yes, I think you do need to spell it out. Because the oct 7 attack is pretty well documented. And Israel doesn’t use its civilians as cover.

To be fair, the current “Secretary of War” is reciting nonexistent or mischaracterized Bible passages in every press conference in an effort to justify his war to cleanse the Earth of a religion.

This ain’t the America you remember any longer.

America lost the moral high ground long ago.

Why do you now avoid discussing the strategic blunder in Iran? The one you were so in favour of.

Sad. 😒

What would you like to discuss? It's an on-going conflict. My position has been that the US was justified in taking action. As to whether it will be a blunder or not, I think the jury is still out. Iran's military has been significantly degraded by any assessment but I think the litmus test will be whether Iran's nuclear capacity is eliminated.

That said, I do concede that I, a mere layman, do not understand how the US administration planned to achieve that main goal without deployment of ground troops but maybe that can be accomplished now through an agreement. I do not know. But if it can, I would not consider the action to be a blunder. We'll see I guess.

Of course we can: Israel is the aggressor in this situation, and America acts in deference to Israeli directives. US forces have no legitimate role in the Middle East other than serving the interests of minor client states or as occupying forces, which makes them widely unpopular in the region. US forces have no legitimate role in regions beyond their own borders; wherever they are deployed they are foreign troops and often distrusted by local populations, except by the ruling regimes — the so‑called "kings", "sheikhs" and "sultans", or "Netanyahus."

While a certain Jesus at the White Chapel is shouting and scribbling that the Straits of Hormuz are open, the actual situation is that—
Following the implementation of a ceasefire in Lebanon, Iran has announced the complete reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz to commercial vessels, ... maritime operations would safely resume under Iranian oversight.
Even though that person shouts that Iran will clear the Straits with US backing, that is not the case. All commercial vessels would transit Iranian waters, so no US ship would pass through them. All this is only for the duration of the "ceasefire", so we will see what happens after 24 April.

Pretzel logic is being used in many posts to justify anti-semitism. We’re all observers here and no one has any superpower that elevates their opinion over another’s opinion.

Do not want this to turn into another Vietnam but I believe the administration had justification.

Not persuasive. Iran has very clearly been at war with Israel for a long time (only you refuse to acknowledge the obvious -- it's a war conducted by Iran through proxy).

With regard to the US, Iran has no right to dictate where or when the US can establish a military base in a sovereign country -- which is always done with full consent (and request) of the host nation. Those bases are therefore legitimate/lawful in every sense. Such bases have underpinned NATO for decades and are, of course, in the national security interests of the United States.

Your view that the US has no national interest beyond its borders is your opinion -- so be it. But it is the height of hypocrisy to make that argument when the entire raison d'être of the Iranian regime is to spread its control/ideology/violence over over foreign lands through its proxy militias in Lebanon, Gaza and Yemen. But, yet, that does not seem to outrage as much as American military bases. 😉
