I had to settle on the 16GB as it's the only 6+ that showed available on Apple's site last night, the 64GB was showing 7-10 days shipping and I didn't want to wait. I think it'll be fine, all my iPhones until now have been 16GB and it hasn't been an issue.

You couldn't wait? There's a reason why 16GB was available because no one wants it.

iOS 8 apparently needed 5.8GB just to download over the air, good luck.

I think this question was answered yesterday when everyone was scrambling to make room for iOS 8.

I was the opposite. I was trying to get the 16, but that was the only one with a later ship date when I ordered.i "settled" on the 64.

I ordered a 16GB 6+ in the melee on the 12th and sort of regretted not getting the 64GB. Then I thought about it and looked at MY usage. Since I have a proper unlimited data plan, all my music and video is streamed. I don't take many photos or videos and only keep apps that I actually use, next to no games.
I always have about 8GB free on my 5c, so thought sod it.
My ipad is 32GB and that's used for reading magazines, books and has more music, but even then I have plenty of space free. I'll probably use more space on the 6+ for things like that and flash new games, but I'm at peace with my decision now! ;)
I'm always using my phone, it's just not doing things that use storage, but rather data. I regularly use 30GB a month on my phone and home is well over 500GB as I don't have cable or satellite and everything is streamed there too!!

I understand why 16GB would be useless for a lot of people, but for me personally it'll be fine. My 16GB 5c has served me very well over the last 12 months.

16GB is getting to be way too small. Heck the OS eats up a few of those gigabytes, leaving you with probably only 13 or so to start. I bet next time around 32GB will be the entry level option.

Heard a rumor on reddit iOS 8 was 5.8GB. Is it false? If that's true, then iOS 9 will likely be over 6GB, taking away a over 1/3 of your storage space from you 16GB owners.

I always get 16GB. No music on my phone, I use Spotify, I don't take a lot of pictures or videos (maybe 5 a year), I use Netflix and Hulu Plus, and I only use a dozen apps. No games really because I'm a hardcore gamer with a 3DS and PS Vita, and touch screen games annoy me...

So yeah...16GB :)

similar situation for me. I use spotify and netflix religiously and take very few photos. I always thought mobile phone games were pointless and battery killers, don't see that changing soon.

Also 100 dollars is a lot to me.

I wouldn't be able to survive with 16GB's now. My 3GS, 4S, 5 and 5s have all been 16GB but on the 5/5s all the space just seemed to disappear, couldn't even have half of my music library on it in the end. Was really glad that they didn't have a 32GB model this time round as it forced me to go for the 64GB.

It was that large over the air. It was only 1.6gb if you did it through iTunes, which I always do. Never doing over the air updates again after iOS 6.

I've always found 16gb too cramped.. I have about 20 gigs of music in iTunes so I'm always switching between play lists and removing photos and apps just to make some extra room.

I'm definitely going 64gb with the 6 plus

Oh that makes sense. Thanks for the correction, was not sure if I was saying inaccurate info :).

I kinda wish I went 128. I have unlimited and pay for rdio. However I have 80-90 GB of music. The streaming services are OK...but. I really like to have my whole library on shuffle. It makes you rediscover songs you forgot about. With streaming services you have to know what you are looking for first, also I listen to a lot of artists whose music is underground so the good stuff is on mixed tapes and not available to stream.

I will have to make do with 64. My note 3 has 96 GB so it will be a bit of a downgrade.

Hands up if you had issues installing iOS8 on a 16GB phone because of storage?

Just doesn't make sense to keep 16GB. Even casual users will soak that up over the lifetime of their device with a few apps and photos.

16GB each time for me, i just chuck everything that i want to keep into my airport

16GB is just so limiting. Nothing worse than having to move photos off your phone to your PC. I love referring back to old photos, sharing them, looking at them etc.
