I think it's just different from what you are used to. After a day or two it is like holding any other metal object. The next phone will then feel "slippery".

I have no problem holding a 6 plus. I think the fear is in people's heads.

I gave it a try and for me it's a no no.
I have a 6 and it feels way to slippery, even after a day or 2.
Might be because i have dry hands or something, but it's slipping out of my hands constantly. I even like the feel better with a case, it's reassuring. I don't like the naked feel of the metal.

I don't agree with you about people just doing it because they think they should. And they do offer significant protection against broken screens. Unless you drop it on it's screen on an uneven surface, or unless it's just a really thin case, generally decent cases will protect your screen from shattering in certain situations.

When I first got my plus I hadn't ordered a case yet so I was going naked for about a week. It was nice to look at and hold without a case but I felt like it was too much of a risk. It is a bit slippery and I know my clumsy self would eventually drop it. Plus I work in a place that has all marble floors and some of my co workers phones have fallen victim to those marble phones.

I paid almost a thousand dollars for my unlocked 6+. I'm not going to let a 1k device go unprotected.

How does something not covering the screen protect the screen? I fail to understand how a case around the sides and back protects the screen on a drop?

Cases only keep the back looking pretty -- that's it. They are a scam because people are led to believe they will keep the screen from cracking -- it won't.

It is a scam, for those who think it protects the glass screen from shattering. And its not naked or case. It is encased or normal.

Why would you add weight and bulk to a device that Apple spent much effort to get as light and thin as possible?

I think the whole case thing came about only because of antenna gate when Apple gave out the free bumpers. Did most people really use cases on iphone 1s and 2s? Now people feel or think they MUST have a case -- cause they see other people doing it. I think people buy a case now and don't even think about it, and whether it is really necessary.

Early iPhones were more durable. It wasn't until iPhone 4 when apple started to make them more fragile. People started using cases because the back screen would shatter but the front screen was vulnerable as well. I've seen plenty of shatters iPhone 4/5 screen. I've even seen a sharter iPhone 6 screen.Cases are not a scam.

It depends on what kind of case it. hard generally do provide little to no protection. But tpu and rubber cases do absorb the shock when the phone is dropped. Especially when the case covers the edges of the screen. The rubber edges of the case create space between your phone screen and the surface.

When there is no case covering the edges of the screen your screen will come in direct contact with the surface.

i have had my 6 plus since November caseless and it literally still is in brand new out the box condition i swear lol, all i got is a ghost armor screen protector on it. I got applecare + on it for some peace and mind. this phone is too beautiful to hide it in a case imo, not everyone may feel the same way lol but i got applecare + for this reason, to rock it caseless and enjoy it a ton

I've had my 6 plus naked since I got it a few months ago. I have no problem with it slipping at all, so not really sure where this is all coming from. Of course, I am careful with it, as I am with all of my electronics. It also fits very well in my hand. My wife says it is to big for her hands, and it hurts her to hold it, but I have no such problem.

Will I get a case? Yes. I have been looking at the BulletTrain Safe Wallet case for those times that I want to combine the phone with my wallet. I don't care for the folio ones, and I need a wallet case that holds 2 ids and 2 credit cards, and the new BulletTrain fits that bill. Will find out how well next month when it is shipped out. Will I use it all the time? No. No need when I am at home. Will love it for trips, though.

i find it not hard to hold either, i squeeze it firmly with my left hand and poke at it with my right hand or vice versa. the only time the Plus sometimes feels slippery to me is when it is left put down and you dont touch it for a few hours (like when i go to sleep, the phone gets nice and cold when i wake up the metal is cold and it feels slippery temporary)

Well, beat this: I was making instant coffee with my phone lying on the desk. I fumbled with the lid for the coffee jar and dropped it on my phone. Now there's a tiny ding in the screen (but not much bigger than a speck of dust).

My brother says for some reason his 6+'s screen scratches very easily and it was covered in scratches after the first month. Mine seems to be half sapphire. Stone floors and coffee jars are no match.

I'm not a fan of cases, personally.

I like using and touching my phones au natural. My reasoning is, what is the point of appreciating the design if you're just gonna throw a case over it, or seeing the screen as it was intended if you throw a screen protector over. I do understand the desire of value retention however. Other people do enjoy cases for other reasons (fit in hand better etc) Though, since Apple care plus, I always get that to have peace of mind when using my devices and I am just careful when handling them

I don't like cases. Clear full-body skin + edge to edge glass screen protector + applcare+ for me. It's pretty much naked but reasonably well protected from a drop and if it does get wrecked in the fall, I just get another one with applecare.

I find the Plus very slippery - probably the most of any iPhones. I received my Plus via mail first week after launch and went the next day to the Apple Store to pick up a case. I have the silver and white phone and find the white Apple silicone a perfect match. I've tried a couple other super thin cases Shumuri and Caudabe but found of them slippery as well. For me, the white silicone works perfectly. Thankfully I found a great solution early on and didn't do my usual search and buy of so many cases.

I too started with the white silicone case but then returned it a week later. That thing is a lint magnet and it drove me crazy! Other than that though, great case. So now, months later, I'm 8 cases deep and still haven't found the perfect one

My solution that's working for me, or that cured me buying many cases, I just switch each month. I have 4 altogether, normally like 8 or more with previous phones, but taking monthly turns on the cases I have, has allowed me to enjoy them, and sometimes I go 2 months with the same case on.

If anything, its stopped the lust of case buying for now. For me it was more about the anticipation of ordering and having a package :D come. Gald its something small in price tho, that could be a death to my budget, but to be fair with you on my whole "new solution" I just preached about, I've only had my phone for 2 months and have 4 cases already. So I needed a quick solution lol.

I think I have the same obsession of shopping online for cases and the anticipation of opening something "new". I'll try rotating cases monthly like you did and see if that keeps my obsession down lol

The first time I put the 6+ down it went off the table, thankfully fell on a sofa. Its like a fish. Went straight to the store and bought urban armor gear.

I run my 6+ naked, i just the love the design to much. I just make sure i grip mine extra hard if I'm any where, where dropping it will damage it. In my house i throw it around it everywhere.

No case for me. I've purchased so many and keep going back to naked. The only exception is at the gym, when I use a tuneband.

My hands are on the bigger side and while it's slightly a stretch, it's also a bit crampy to clamp onto the smaller 6 for a prolonged period of time. I've developed a new grip tactic of laying all the fingers out on the back and the thumb stabilizing it on the side when I walk.

i tried 4 cases already. none of them lasted me for more than a day, in fact the apple leather case had to go after 10 minutes. i simply cant do it lol i got Apple Care + so i dont care

Still say this thread needs to be re-titled to:

"My Phone is beat to hell, wish I would have used a case"!:(

I'm not sure why this would be true. I have not used a case on my 6 for months. I took it to Disney without a case, it's in my pocket everywhere I go, I have it in an armband at the gym, and set it down on surfaces, etc. I use it everyday like everyone else and there are only the tiniest, most minuscule imperfections. It seems like everyone who uses a case thinks everyone else should too and anyone who doesn't use a case thinks cases are a waste.
Also, everyone I know personally who broke their screen in the last few years had a case on their phone at the time.

Slickwraps is all I have on mine since launch day, one drunken mistake at a bar at 1:30am about 3 weeks after I got it and and the screen shattered and that's the only mishap I have had. Used one of my two replacements with the apple insurance, Well worth it going naked with no case, phone breaks pay the $75 and get a new one.

Not worried about at all

I generally have always used my iPhones without a case. This is the first one where I enjoy the feel of a case more; naked, the device is simply too thin and slippery.

Not naked but closest thing to it , love my fusion
