I really like the ability to pull tabs to the desktop and get them in their own widow. I'm not sure but I thought before with 2.0 you could not change the Proxy setting in the browser, but instead had to go into system prefs. I could be wrong about that though as I just have my ethernet set with my work proxy.

One bug I found was that if you put your laptop to sleep (for me a 2.16 C2D MBP) either via the :apple: Menu or by closing the lid, the computer can not wake back up and I have been forced to reset. I don't have this issue when the computer puts it's self to sleep.

for being beta software I am really impressed. I have even stopped using FireFox, and before now I used Safari maybe half a dozen times only.

My hats off to Apple for doing a really good job at updating the browser.

So, after using Safari for Windows for the last couple of days, I have to say that so far it's working great for me! It's not slow or buggy or crashing. And I like the font-rendering. It's easier on my eyes than either IE or FF. The only problem I've found is that if I maximize my window, minimize it, and then restore it, it doesn't return as maximized but at the size it was before maximization. I reported this to Apple use the bug button and it worked fine.

Something else added to the goodies in the beta...selective reset!

I'm on PPC and it hasn't crashed on me yet. Actually the only think I don't like about it over the latest version of Safari 2 is that PithHelmet doesn't work with it yet. Needless to say I haven't seen web ads in a very long time.

I like the new beta the PPC version hasn't crashed yet. But you still can't sort your bookmarks, but searching them has improved.

I know I'm being thick here but how the hell do you use this inline search feature? How do I bring up the search box?

Safari 3 crashes immediately on start-up for me :(

iBook G4, 10.4.9. Anyone else seen this? I guess it might have something to do with some plug-in but I'm not sure which. I disabled Saft and that wasn't it.

New search feature seems great though.

It might be another plug-in. I think Shapeshifter, Speed Downloader and Taboo all have conflicts. I believe this is the "official" troubleshooting thread for problems.

Stretch Doesn't Work On G4 iMacs

Just discovered a new feature I'm calling "Stretch". Command + Return spreads your Safari 3 window all the way to FULL SCREEN on the monitor it's in. Repeat and it returns to its former size.
Tried to do "Stretch" on an 800GHz G4 iMac Lamp today and it doesn't work. Works great on my Quad G5. Anyone not getting this feature with an Intel Mac?

Safari 3 Warns You When You Accidentally Quit It

Thank God Hallelujah and Praise the Lord. We finally can't accidentally quit Safari any more. Man if I had a nickel for every time I accidentally quit without any way to get that set of windows and tabs back, I'd have at least a dollar. :p

I don't see it on my Intel Macs. Are you sure you don't have some other 3rd party app installed which does this? Is it only with Safari that you see the effect?

Megazoomer Is Installed On My Quad G5

You're right. I forgot I installed Megazoomer long ago and never used it. But it doesn't work with 2.0.4 Safari. It's full screen window zoom capability only works with Cocoa apps. My bad.

Popup magnification now works in Safari 3 that didn't in 2.0.4. This is particularly useful for websites that are full of them like the San Jose Mercury Fry's Ads. I've been using FireFox only to access these pages for years because it has had popup magnification working.

After using this browser for a few days (windows version), I like it more when I started. The browser is sleek looking and fast.

I don't notice the crashing near as much as when I first started. Now only once in a long while.

My main complaint is the inability to block ads - I suppose an extension will be developed soon.

I used the Safari verion for Windows a few days and its not a very good experience it crashes every time I want to write something in any page, the only page that works well is the Apple page its the only one
I tried a couple of times to install it again or download it again but nothing, the same problem remains..

I have a 17" G4 PB 1G/1G/60G and have zero issues, fired right up. At first it seems a tad slow compared to 2.0, but I think it just needed to run through the sites and set the cookies. It seems fine after 20 minutes of browsing various sites. I have not found a problem yet, but if I do I'll report back :).

Every option works for me except the screen stretch thing. I have not tried it because my 17" screen is always full when I use my browser.

Did you ever get an answer to this?

I am having the same problem.

I liked it but had to uninstall it due to a bug I encountered:

I could not close any safari window.. Very stupid bug.. I have to quit the entire app to close it (obviously)

Has anyone else encountered this?
