I have no unlock sound on iPhone 5, iPad Mini Wifi, and iPad 3 WiFi

so can we pretty much confirm that the unlock sound is gone?

Yup it's gone. No-one has actually proved otherwise. The only person I've seen claiming it hadn't gone couldn't prove it as they claimed their device magically stopped doing it when asked for proof....

Why do you need an unlock sound? You are holding the phone right in front of you, you see that phone and the screen, why do you need that sound? it's not like without it you don't know when you unlocked your iphone.

It's STILL THERE.

I'm using iOS 7 GM, iPad 3, fresh install.

The one missing for iPad 3 are: blurry effect in Notification Center, Control Center, and Keyboard. sucks... :(
It's just plain transparent, and not looks as good as blurry effect.

If you're blind.

If the unlock sound was removed on purpose and there's only supposed to be the lock sound, then there is still at least this one bug - the fact it is still referred to as Lock Sounds (PLURAL) in the settings :p

In my language it's in singular now, it was in plural before. So i'm guessing they removed it for good, but it's still odd they left it in plural in English :apple:

As a stab in the dark I would guess that it has something to do with fingerprint unlocking. I don't know why they would remove it but you might see a reason in a support doc at some point.

 But... you don't use a phone if you are blind and even if the unfortunate person does, it would be very limited functions that she/he could barely use.

Have you not heard of VoiceOver? Blind people flock to iPhones, because Apple really cares about acessibility (which makes this all the more puzzling.) I think there was even a WWDC video recently in which one of the segments was about a blind man who used the iPhone to help him navigate.

Seriously? You might want to look into that even a tiny bit more before commenting on it.

It's not a bug. Apple removed it.

It's not such a big deal.
Well get used to it, because it ain't coming back.
To be fair, we still don't know if this was an intentional change, and whether or not it truly won't be changed back. Just the inconsistencies of the lock sound being there and unlock not being there and the English (which is the main) labeling using the plural form of "sounds", those are enough to make you wonder even just a bit before completely dismissing it.
