Right, it's just down to everyone's individual preference. Why do seem to have a need to convince others that they really want the plus? Some people don't want to have a small tablet for their phone and prefer to be able to use their phone with one hand. If I need a bigger screen I've got an 7.9" iPad, a 15" MBP and a 55" TV.
Need to convince? Or was it more of asking?

I am getting regular 8! I like the form factor size! It is perfect fit my hands. Not too keen on the screen still being 720p and only 326ppi. Space Gray and only 64GB this time around!

People say this a lot but if you have raise to wake, you can literally lift the phone with your finger or thumb on the home button and you’ll be taken straight to the home screen without needing to press anything.

I think a lot of people don't know that this is an accessibility option in settings.

I am getting an 8+... Going from 5S... Why 8 instead of X... Just about the same phone for cheaper price...

Oh and I am torn between the 8 and 8 Plus... never had a plus phone and worried it may be tooooo big...

Very personal decision. For some, the plus is too big. Lots of forum members have switched from the plus to the "regular" OR wished they hadn't gotten the plus. For others, they've said they'd never go back to a non-plus size.

For me, I value portability and one-handed use and there is no way in h#ll I'm putting the plus sized phone in my pocket.

I'm getting the 8. I still have an iPhone 5 so it will be a huge upgrade for me. I couldn't care less about the Plus since i want a phone to be usable with one hand. Sucks the regular 8 doesn't have a double camera though. Cheap bastards.

I'm in a similar situation, currently have a 5s. To me the 8 is a huge upgrade (better camera, larger screen, etc).

Leaning heavily towards the 8….although i like the camera features of the 8+

My current 5S works a treat though….i suspect thats because Im still on iOS9.

Seriously tempted to sit this out and wait for the 8S though….even though I know that is a fool's game.

i had a 6s+, switched down to a 6s after about 9 months. Just got frustrating with the size and weight. The screen size was really useful, but just couldn't live with the form factor.

That makes the 8 the only option for me - but because it doesn't have the same camera as the 8+ it makes me not want that either.

I'm still trying to decide if an 8 Plus is what I really want or if I'm just being impatient. :(

Aye me too.

I’m leaning towards an 8Plus as I’ve never had a plus sized phone and I’m curious.

If I get it on the IUP, can I return it within x days if it turns out too big? I’m in the U.K.

If you really want a plus sized phone, why not just go with the X and get a plus sized screen without all the extra bulk? The plus is a HUGE phone IMO.

I’m just not a fan of the X and it’s crazy price (I feel the plus is already a crazy price!) and also I’m not keen on what I’ve seen of FaceID so far

I'm getting the 8. I was excited for the X, but the ugly notch killed that option for me. 8+ is way too big for me. I had the 6S+ and moved to the 7.

Also going to the 8, from a 7+.

I LOVE the Plus camera, but apart from that, that's it.
I don't like the size. It's just to awkward for me.

I find the physical size of the normal 6/6S/7 just right.

I'm definitely getting the 8 or 8+.

For someone coming from a 6 it's a huge upgrade. X is most definitely not worth the extra money in my situation. I don't care about Face ID at all and while OLED looks beautiful it's not worth that extra $$$.

I have to just decide if I want to give + a try. I went to the Apple store to test it and while it seems ok I feel I'm going to regret it later once I have to stick it in my pocket every day.

The 8 makes no sense at all to me. There are no real important improvements with the 8 and they left out the 128gb version which is the best compromise between cost and space. After the last price reduction the 128gb iPhone 7 is the real alternative to the X....

Ordering the regular 8 most likely.
I've had the plus sized phone before and whilst it's great I find it too unwieldy in the gym, cycling, running, boxing and training. For just about everything else I prefer the plus model over the regular. I might consider the iPhone X next year when Apple irons out whatever kinks the iPhone X is plagued with (I'm sure there will be some as there always are with new phone designs). I also hope the price gets lowered a bit by next year, 1650 USD is a lot to ask for a phone.

That's the same reason I've never gotten a plus model - fear of hating it. Some love it. However, many people on this forum have regretted getting a plus or have switched back after finding the plus too big. I've used the plus from friends/family a few times and I always find myself thinking there is no way I'm comfortably fitting that in my pocket!

Those are good points for people to think about. You do not get the same features as with the Plus. Don't forget about shorter battery life. I don't know why apple won't bump up the resolution on the 8

Coming from an iPhone 6 I would have jumped at the chance of getting the 8 no hesitation if it had the dual camera! But I'm now considering the X because the 8 Plus size is way too big.

I think if the 4.7 iphone 8 had dual cam it would definitely eat into the X sales and apple knows this!

MKBHD just made a video addressing the top 5 questions he gets about the iPhone X.

He mentioned that reachability is definitely an issue, and this is certainly not a one-handed phone.

I was concerned that the phone would be too big, so now I’m leaning towards getting the 8. As much as I’d love the new tech in the iPhone X, I absolutely need a phone that’s easy to use with one hand. I even find the iPhone 7 to be a bit too big for me. Wish they made a 4.5 inch phone.
