Is anyone getting a regular iPhone 8?

I don't think I've seen anyone just getting the regular 4.7 inch model. If you are, what are your reasons?

I have the 6s, I find the size absolutely perfect, the 8+ model would be too big for myself as with my job my phone is in and out of my pocket all day, the size makes it very convenient.

Awesome replies.

I'm a leaning towards the 8. I have a 7+ now. I know I am going to deeply miss portrait mode, longer battery life, and full HD screen though. That's what really sucks.

But I really really miss one handed use.

Does iPhone 6s/7 screen still look pretty nice? I hope so. Never really compared one to the Plus.

What also sucks is Ill feel inferior and left behind. I'm buying the 8 while everyone else is getting the 10. Like I'm buying a 2 year old device. Just venting and babbling. Sorry.

This decision just royally sucks.

So are you going to get the iPhone 8 then or hold off?

Going with the 8 for sure! I ordered 2 Qi wireless charges off amazon for 12$ a pop as well as a case! Lol

Missing the battery life would do it for me, often go home on 30%

Wow, I didn't know Apple bumped the 4.7 inch to full 1080p. It's about time, but that was the big reason for me not going with the smaller models compared to the Plus versions. hmmmm

So the iPhone 7 to the 8

* Better Camera
* Full HD Display
* Wireless Charging
* A11 Bionic Chip

Not a terrible upgrade.
They didn't.

pocket size convenience however 4.7 size is still bulky, for me the perfect size is the SE one but i don't like that is made from different old parts, a Frankestein phone LOL.

According to TechRadar they did. I've not seen anyone else say they didn't. I'm still looking for 100% confirmation, but TechRadar is adamant about it.

From TechRadar's hands-on review:

EDIT: Nevermind, what a fail on TechRadar's review. Apple's site confirms it's the same 750p screen. Lame. $700 and still a sub 1080p screen.

If it wasnt for the better camera on the 8+ the normal 8 would be a no brainer for me. But for now im still mulling it over.

Currently got the 128GB iPhone 7 which I pay £60 a month for through o2. I would love to upgrade with the yearly upgrade programme they offer but for the 64GB version (which to be honest would suit me) its now £63 :/
Feels a bit of a rip off to pay extra for a phone with half the memory that doesn't really offer any substantial differences.

Are features not important as much as your prefered size?
For me yes. While I do like the improved camera and portrait mode of the Plus model, as I don't consider my iPhone my main/serious camera (yet), I would not consider that enough to make me carry around the larger instrument. And from what I have read that is the main "feature" difference between the two models.

I'm a girl. I have small hands. I would never get a Plus. It's not really a budget thing so much as to each their own.
Exactly. That was just another example of someone thinking if you can't get the most expensive you must be poor and on a budget. Nevermind the fact that some people buy something based on what they like and or prefer. Pay no attention to those comments. If you prefer the 8 then get the 8. It's not a "budget device as some people seem to think it is.

I ended up going for the regular 8 despite some major to-ing and fro-ing, mainly because sometimes I feel my 6S is almost too big, so going for an even bigger one would surely get on my wick eventually. Honestly, I’m not 100% sold that it’s going to feel like much of an upgrade, but I’m at least hoping the glass back gives much more grip than the slippery metal back of my 6S so I can go caseless.

If you really want a plus sized phone, why not just go with the X and get a plus sized screen without all the extra bulk? The plus is a HUGE phone IMO.

Because you don't get a Plus-sized screen on the X.......
You get a taller non-Plus sized screen, with a higher DPI, but with a worse aspect ratio.

I seriously worry how many people are actually basing their X purchase on believing it's the Plus screen in a non-Plus form-factor. It isn't.

I'm getting the 8 because I'm on the Att next every year plan. Upgrading from my 7 makes sense because the resale value is less than the residual left. I'm also happy that there are some nice updates in the 8.

I honestly don't understand why people want 1080p on the 7/8. The screen is 4.7". You wouldn't be able to see the extra pixels.

I'll likely get the successor to the X next year after their mass beta test. Hopefully under-screen touch id is a thing. The UX design on the X just isn't compelling to me.

I've had the plus since it was first released with the 6. I love how good the screen looks but I hate that its so big and doesn't fit in my pocket. This time around I decided to go for the regular 8 so as to have a different experience.

But to be truthful I am considering getting the x when its released.

People want things just for the sake of wanting them. Technically, at a 12-14" distance, a person with 20/20 could see *some* improvement of 1080p vs. 720p on a 4.7" screen according to some of the screen resolution calculators I've seen. In the real world, I doubt that hardly anyone would notice the difference in an A/B comparison however.

Thinking of switching from 6s to 8. Shoot a ton of videos. The dual-camera would be nice, but 60fps 4k on iPhone 8? My GH4 can't even do that. Plus just seems too big to me. Held one today. I have a hard time picturing me with that in my pocket.
