Of course. Every year people that really want the Pro model buy the Max model just to return it for FOMO.
Then they run here and post how "too big" it is and that they are returning it.
It is not like you could demo the sizes at the store or anything.

After getting the 13 pro max is anybody going to exchange for 13 pro?

Haha, yeah I’ve got both. Had an 11 pro max until about 3 months ago when that died. Got a cheap 12 mini off eBay to tide me over and scratch the small screen itch.

Ordered a Max for launch day without a thought for the regular pro. Somehow it feels massive compared to my previous 11 max, or do I just need time to readjust after the mini…. Probably

As they seemed to have them In abundance I collected a regular pro in store on Saturday after thinking the max was now too much, but in all honesty the regular pro doesn’t feel that much lighter, although easier in the hand/pocket. Not sure which I’ll keep yet, full on first world problems here. Suspect it will be the max that stays though….. hard to give up that extra screen and battery once you’ve experienced it imo.

I bought a 13PM bc, even if it felt big too since day 1, I really liked my 12PM. But even if the extra weight it’s not very much, I find it too heavy. Bought a 13 Pro too and probably will be the one I keep.

Ahh, so let’s create a bunch of used, unsellable phones depending on what mood you are in? ;). I wish I had that much time to spend in a store.

I got both the 13 P and PM (previous phone was 11 Pro).
As much as I like the large display and the „naked“ PM on the couch (so dirty ;) )- it is too big.
For everyday use I prefer the 13P.
Have an appointment tomorrow to give the PM back and go on with the 13P

there are cons to both of course, having come from the 12 Pro, if that batter issue persist on the 13 Pro, it is a real problem! Seems like I ALWAYS had to charge....that was just on LTE too! So not sure how much better the 13 Pro is I have a feeling not that much better actually. Yes the size is great with the 13 pro, but harder to see text and multitask compared to the PM. Also for travel PM is much better, you can use it on the plane for movies, emails, documents etc. a mini ipad if you will. there is no perfect phone, sadly-

There are battery tests for that, which are available all over the Internet now. The 13Pro now has the same battery life that the 12Pro Max had last year. The text size can be adjusted for apps and Safari in Settings.

well, battery test don't always mimic real world... my point is, apple said the 13 PRO batter would be better, I am seeing and hearing it is not!

Hearing from who? People who keep using this forum? The forum that drains battery on all iPhones unless you install an ad blocker.
I’ve been on my iPhone 13Pro since Friday. It’s better than my 11Pro. The 11Pro was much better than the 12Pro in that regard as well.

Good to know. Yeah from the forum and two friends who said the battery is not much better than 12 pro.strange!

Keep in mind that it’s been only 2 days since launch: many new iPhones are still downloading and indexing things in the background too.
However, I would be surprised to see a bad battery life on the iPhone with a battery which capacity is significantly increased compared to the previous generation (3095 mAh on the 13Pro vs 2815 mAh on the 12Pro, 3046 mAh on the 11Pro for comparison). On top of that, this phone has a more energy efficient chip and modem (5nm vs 7nm of the previous modem). Moreover, it got the adaptive screen that can go as low as 10 Hz, which helps preserve battery life as well.

yes although true, my iPhone 13 max was pushed to absolute limits today with a 12 hour work day at the hospital, emails, calls, videos, internet, constantly... all day and now its evening and still have 50%!! LOl that's nuts...

I got the 13PM as well. Planning to return it for the 13P instead.

As everyone says, battery life on the 13PM is amazing… but ending the day at 50-60% has no added value to me.

The only situation I can think of when I would need the battery life is a 2-3 day trip into the mountains, and even then, a battery bank is a must-have. As such, both the 13P and PM are sufficient for “all-day battery” and thus equal.

Aside from battery, it’s just the larger screen:
- Home use: If you don’t have an iPad, perhaps the PM would be better for video watching
- Outside use: As a viewfinder for the camera, the PM is better hands down
- Home & outside use: video editing / gaming, the PM is way better. Beyond screen, form factor is also better for landscape gaming

All considered, improved pocketability (size and weight) of the 13P is more important than the larger screen of the 13PM.

Im sticking with my 13PM after 2 years of using the 11PM the pro screen seams to small even though it is bit more manageable

I was very pleasantly surprised at how manageable the max is compared to my old 8 plus which felt big and heavy all the time

Just the comment I’m looking for. Please explain more. My wife and I are coming from 8 plus we’ve been using for 4 years. I ordered 2 Pro Max still waiting for shipping. I thought about canceling the Pro Max for my wife and exchanging for the Pro based on how everyone say it’s too big and heavy. However, if we’ve both been using 8 Plus for 4 years, does the Pro Max feel that much bigger and heavier?

Yes. I have an 8 Plus and would not want to carry the Pro Max. Heck, I think the 8 Plus is too heavy.

To add insult to injury, the Max has square sides, which cut into your hands. Uncomfortable!

P.S. Get new batteries for the 8 Pluses. They work great. Will give you a couple more years.

I’ve got it with the apple transparent case and it feels very nice to hold very smooth sides no sharp edges

My 8 had a horrible carbon case that didn’t help

The case is lovely and smooth no sharp edges

I’m torn. I love the PM. Probably will keep. Am thinking of the Pro though, also in graphite. Problem is the maxs have a decent wait (4weeks) in Australia.
Once covid eases, it’s hard to imagine life without this battery life.
