So regarding that concern is the XNU gonna be kept open source or is it gonna be archived soon once Tahoe is on it's last release? Maybe even Apple could go back to unsigning previous ipsw for Macs that are not even updated for Apple Silicon as the next phase from either Goldengate or macOS 28.
 
Rumor? Speculation? Where and who is expressing this concern besides yourself?
I hope it's just me, and not some boring hunch that's why i call it rumor i don't think if it is 100% speculative either
I started wondering the same. The reason being that the less public code the better in the light of the spate of AI found bugs.

But there are licensing issues which keep the code open source. So I don't think it will happen.
