so far its running well on my iphone 5. no force closes yet and everything seems smooth. looks like the issue with the menu bar typing over other menu items isnt an issue for me like it was in beta 1. also, the imessage bubbles dont cover up the delivery reports like they were in beta 1.

Turning off Parallax on iPhone 4S and later might help in improving overall performance, but what about the iPhone 4? Parallax doesn't work on it, be it turned on or off. Any suggestions? I got beta 2 on two iPhone 4 and both are experiencing lag in animations. Really smooth on my iPhone 4S.

Mine is definitely less stable. Has been very buggy since installation.

And battery has dropped even more:

Beta 2 has been worse.
Animations are less fluid. More crashes. Voice navigation is slow.
Only thing improved is battery life.

other way around for me, battery life is good but i dont seem to have any other issues yet. apps that werent working before are no longer force closing.

I have iOS7 Beta 2 installed on iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. I can tell you it is much more stable on the iPhone 5. I think this is due to less ram and slower processor. I did clean installs on both! Previously I had just did a upgrade on the iPad Mini and it was almost unusable. Now that I've done the clean install its much better, but still not as stable as the iPhone 5.

Overall though Beta 2 is better for them than Beta 1 on my iPhone 5. Seems like most of those saying its worse are on phones with less ram and processor speed.

I did what everyone says not to do and restored from ios6 when i loaded up 7b1 and then did an OTA update to 7b2 and I'm finding that its way more stable than before. I have yet to get any random reboots and everything is running smooth right now.

I find beta 2 to be more bug free, more stable, and more battery friendly on my iPhone 5. I did OTA update. But is is true that the keyboard is slow and lacking in terms of responsiveness.

My springboard crashes more often. Like just now, I got a mail notification. My screen flashed on and then immediately hit the Apple logo to re-spring.

Beta 1 had a lot of UI glitches but for the most part everything functioned. Beta 2 is causing a lot of app crashes and springboard crashes. Especially with the camera and apps that use the camera (eg instagram). Sometimes apps would hang or springboard would hang (I see the wallpaper but no icons and no status bar), forcing me to do a hard reset.

Some animations seems smoother (like multitasking) but overall it seems laggier and buggier. It takes a couple seconds from pressing home/power for the phone to actually wake up the screen.

This is on a 4S.

I was astounded at the stability of Beta 1, barring some incompatible apps, which is to be expected.

Not so Beta 2.

(I'm on a 4S)

I had Beta 2 on my iPod Touch but was experiencing nothing but problems. At one point it froze for so long I was afraid that it bricked. The springboard was crashing every 10 to 15 seconds. No apps worked at all. Everytime I opened an app it would crash and the springboard would crash as well.

What device are you running it on? iPhone 5?

My iPad 3 is actually running surprising smooth

Edit.. I also started from a clean install no transferring of old data

Mine is running like a total piece of junk (iPad 3 + Verizon). If I try to change the background image it locks the whole iPad and I have to wait a few minutes before I can even shut it off. Control center doesn't work, the camera makes the whole thing wig out, it's really just been a disaster. There's also a highly noticeable delay with all touch inputs that's particularly difficult when typing. I need to wipe it off and try installing it again. It's a beta so I'm not complaining just yet but it feels like it has a much longer way to go before it's ready for prime time than I'm used to from Apple betas of late.

Oddly enough my 4S test iPhone runs it pretty damn smoothly.

Bug Report

Here is the bug report i submitted to apple.

Summary: Notification Centre and control centre does not work.

Bug 1:
Steps to Reproduce: Open few applications, now go to multi-tasking and close all applications. Now go to home screen and try pulling down notification centre or control centre. They wont come up until you sleep your iphone and unlock it again.

Expected Results: notification centre and control centre should work.

Actual Results: doesn't work.

Regression:

Notes:

Bug 2:
Enter any city location in Apple Maps, like I entered Indian Capital: New Delhi and i landed somewhere in Indian Ocean on Apple Maps.

. . . Now go to home screen and try pulling down notification centre or control centre. They wont come up until you sleep your iphone and unlock it again . . .

I would imagine most of us have experienced this bug, one way to resolve it is to swipe from left to right as if you are accessing the old Spotlight search from the home screen and then subsequently access notification or control centre.

It should work.

Mine is wifi only and you wouldn't event know its a beta. I have about 20k photos already on it and 1000 photos in photo stream so sometimes the photo app lags or even crashes but that's the only time I can get ios7 to crash.

Occasional hiccups and glitches but for a beta version of iOS my experiences have been stable.

Beta 2 is way more annoying on my iPhone 5. I OTA'd. I'm turning off parallax now.

I can't do a restore like new because I have 48,000 messages I don't want to lose.

I do understand that it is beta, but I do not believe that iOS 7 is ready yet for the iPod 5th Generation. It is way to laggy, and nothing runs stably.

Both good and back

On my iPhone 4s the first 2 days were great. No crashes etc. Then boom - everything is crashing, not working etc. I did a clean install again last night and Im still having it crash on me with texts, camera, etc. Mail is constantly full of fake temporary accounts listed under settings.

iPad 2 its awful. I could install it as a new device but could not do a update and install. Got stuck on a loop and then it signed I'm into my iTunes match on the wrong account - which now has locked me out of it for 90 days on my iPhone (where I actually use it).
