Bull crap :D....the older bull gored the younger bull THEN walked down and sired the ALL himself. ;)

I'm already locked and settled into the iOS ecosystem and I've seen enough Apple iPhones that I don't need to be patient. I have confidence that this purchase will fit my needs perfectly.

Any other purchase, I'd agree with you. I'm very slow and methodical in researching my purchases. In fact, part of being on this forum is research for the new model. But when you've committed so many resources to the iPhone ecosystem, it's difficult to step away. And I've researched the competition as well and while there are some nice-to-haves, there are also a lot of pitfalls I'm interesting in avoiding. So I feel safe enough to purchase it right away with no need for further review.

I just got mine 6 months ago, its gonna be with me at least another 2 years.

Where's the easiest place to sell your iPhones right now for a guaranteed sale for a decent price? I have a 16 GB iPhone 4 from June 2010.

I will be keeping my 4S as a backup, I still have my iPhone 4 that I will sell once I get the iPhone 5 in my hands.

I would never sell weeks in advance tho

Wirelessly posted

I think I'll wait to sell my 4S until I have my next phone (next iPhone, maybe GS3) in hand. I don't have a beater phone to use in the interim. Also, I'm not sure if I'll be able to snag an unlocked iPhone the week of release. Didn't Apple delay unlocked phones for a month or so?

What I don't get are idiots buying a 2 year old iphone 4 16GB for anything more than $270-280 and a 32GB for more than $350.

Same goes for an 11 month old iPhone 4S. At most a 16GB 4S should net you around $400 and 32GB net around $450-475.

Especially with the new iPhone just around the corner.

Sure the iPhone holds value (supposedly) if you base it on the subsidized price but the retail price at $650/750/850 does not hold value if you buy the iPhone outright compared to Android subsidized prices.... sometimes you can get top of the line Android phones for $50-100 on contract. Just need to wait one month after it's release and top of line Android phones will drop in pricing at Amazon etc.

Nope. I just got the 4s and am content with it. I'll get the next one in december or January so my mom can upgrade to (inherit) my 4s if the new phone impresses me enough by then.

I don't need the newest.. Just productive.

I think my issue is moreso.. my contract is up, and I SHOULD renew at least 1 year contract.. but I dont want to lose my unlimited data.. so I technically DONT have to sell my 4s..

But it'd be nice to still have unlimited data, AND get the 4g iphone [granted it's 4g]

You blew through 23 cases? Wow, you surely made the case manufacturers rich.

By the way, they rarely help with resale value as not everyone uses a case so you're basically giving them away for free.

I agree it would be giving them away for free.. now granted, majority I didn't get at full retail because I purchased from Amazon, however, if the iphone 5 is as the rumor states, longer, thinner, with a different cord... I will have no use of the cases, so I might as well make an extra $50 or so bucks from the cases I can't use and take it as a loss for what I paid. But yea.. prior to my lifeproof case.. I was an addict.. Couldnt find one to fit all of my needs.

But it seems like on Craigslist my 64gb iphone 4s should sell.. It's the only 64gb I see, that isn't some "we accept paypal" scam

I'm keeping it. Passing it along to my wife when i get the new iPhone and probably selling her iPhone 4 on Craigslist.
I think my 4S would fetch a nice chunk of money if I were to sell it because it literally has ONE light scratch on the back. I've mostly kept it in InvisibleShield and some sort of light case.

Locked in a price with Gazelle for my not-so-perfect 4, and will be sending it in once I get the 5.

I will be giving mine to one of my kids since I just purchased my 4S April and then use one of their upgrades to purchase the 5 :D

How much?
$171. It has a scratch on the screen and the screen doesn't respond quite so perfectly like it used to (I've dropped this thing a few times) so I'm going this route instead of selling a faulty device to someone.

That's not bad at all.
