Actually, no. If I loss my key, I could simply change my lock. But if someone has my fingerprints, i could not change my fingerprints.

I can respect someone's concerns about someone getting your unlock code, or even the paranoia behind having your finger prints being recorded by Apple. But in what insane case can someone get your fingerprint and then use it to unlock your phone? I know the MythBusters had an episode where they were able to thwart some fingerprint scanners, but they were pretty off the wall cases.

The case where someone can get your phone, get your fingerprints, and start using ApplePay BEFORE you can remote-erase the phone is pretty much zero.

Talk all you want about security this-and-that, but it is totally bogus. No one is going to steal your fingerprints to unlock your phone. And stuff like this won't keep me up at night either.

Stealing your PIN number seems easier.

I really don't understand why you all think it won't work....

I don't use TouchID to unlock my phone, but I do use it for Applepay./iTunes

Thank you for posting not only correct information, but a means to back it up. I swear, 90% of the people on these forums just post to post when they have no idea WTF they're talking about. What is wrong with people?

That may be correct information, but it's not what the OP was asking. He didn't want to use any kind of passcode or TouchID.

Yeah, except that when you uncheck it like he has, you have to use the passcode to unlock the phone. The choice is between passcode and Touch ID. The OP doesn't want either.

Kinda like you just did.

I really hope anyone who doesn't lock their phone at all no matter what kind of phone it is doesn't have ANYONE but their own personal info in their phone. No phone numbers and email address and home address and so forth. Because that's one way people commit fraud is getting people's info out of stolen phones and you are being careless with other people's information if you don't lock your phone.

It was different back in the day when people used first name and a phone number and that's all they had in their flip phones. Things have changed.

The people who complain about touchID being an extra step...have you actually tried for a week using your phone and unlocking it with your fingerprint? It is literally faster than sliding to unlock.

I never used a passcode before the 5s, but touchID makes your phone faster and more secure. Why you wouldn't use it, I'll never know.

I think it is because if someone stole your phone they'd be able to enrol their finger prints and use your card (without any pass code protection).

Hahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha ... man ... plus you got 7 upvotes of people agreeing with you ... HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Wow .. you guys make it sound like you're multi-millionaire VIPs .. and the only way to get your money is through your fingerprint hHAHAHAHHAHA ok ok I'll stop laughing but this **** hilarious .. What about the thousand fingerprints all over your phone ? your wallet ? your accessories ? your car ? your door (if they want to go that far and stalk you).

Give me a freakin break. If some thief wants to go through the trouble to copy your fingerprints, then know that you're screwed to begin with as they will get it whether you like it or not, and they're more likely be professionals out to get you specifically, knowing who you are and what you do for being such an important target for them. Sheesh ..... Regular thieves want your phone for a quick sale and bucks, not freakin CSI ****.

Because at times it DOES NOT WORK!

the post you quoted said without a passcode anyone could setup their own finger print on that phone and use the cards

I think you were hoping someone was saying they dont want their finger print stolen

Haha fair enough, thought it's one of those posts being afraid of conspiracy theories around them.

I don't get why I can't just use touch id IN apple pay but not have to use it for lock screen

If It's too much trouble for you to place your thumb on a button to unlock a phone, then it's going to be too much trouble to place your thumb on a button to pay for something.

I don't know why people won't use security on their phones and especially when email, contacts, pictures, and other stuff. I don't do it for me, but I lock it because I don't want my family and friends contacts out there.

With email, a lot of sites will use the email address to rest a password and that is all, so why take that chance. I find using the Touch ID is way faster than not having a pass code on it. A few have said this already and it goes the same for me. I'll have my phone in my pocket, when I go for it I, I hit the home button and I am on my home screen already when I am using it.
