I clean installed beta 2, it has some bugs obviously but as a daily driver its seems okay now. The screen sometimes won't wake from sleep, have to take a screenshot to wake it up.

I have the worst time going straight from one app to another, like clicking a URL, double-clicking the home button, or tapping a notification. It will crash the receiving app, and sometimes even the original app!
Anyone else seeing this, and even better, know of a way to solve it?

I guess I'm the exception here. Any suggestions?

You aren't.
Beta 2 is indeed more buggy compared to Beta 1. I saw in my case following things:

  • Autocorrect and QuickType seems to be more inaccurate
  • Battery percentage dissapears without any changes in System settings
  • Safari seems to have major problems with JavaScript. They weren't there in Beta 1

Read release notes much? This forum is a plethora of crap threads.
To each their own.

Beta 2 resolved 7 of the 16 bugs I filed during beta 1 which is real progress and a lot of the remaining bugs I filed are for apps that just need to get updated themselves.

But my OTA to Beta 2 was weird because I've had several compete restarts (only ever resprung the Springboard during Beta 1), my phone is often less responsive or I'm unable to wake it or get I will get stuck in various places (mostly phone & contacts), and my battery is draining *way* faster in b2 than in b1.

After a few days,

I have noticed more bugs.

Lock screen issue, iCloud sign in prompts on resprings/restarts, mail crashes, lock screen crashes, no videos inside apps.

Obviously this is beta just saying, they're making some progress.

This is getting crazy. My iPhone keeps freezing up on Beta 2. Mail locks up so frequently it's nuts. Safari crashes out all the time.

I've never had issues with the OTA updates before but I'm thinking I need to do a fresh install.

Following my OTA update and all its issues, I did a clean install as many of you suggested and initially, things seemed to be running smoother well, that didn't last long at all...

Apps constantantly crash during multitasking, links from emails crash Safari, Siri sometime disappears and instead, I get "Voice Control". The latter requires restarting the phone for it work again.

To me, beta 2 is significantly more buggy than the original, I'm going to downgrade to ios 7.1 for now, the phone is unusable.

I'm still experiencing some of the same bugs, though not as frequently. Meh, its still in beta. I'm really not all that concerned with it.

If I was, I'd just go back to 7.1

Just did a fresh install of beta 2 setup as a new device, no 3rd party apps, and within the first 5 mins I've locked up twice and had my 5S respring. Ugh.

Yeah seemed really smooth until you start configuring settings/installing apps.

then..CRASH CITY.

It's better than beta 1 for sure but it's still a beta (duh) which is why you're not meant to be using for anything other than testing apps as a dev.

beta 2 works good for me. i did a clean install and put a few apps on my 5s. those apps haven't crashed so i am happy. the only thing i wish i could change is i can't watch videos on Facebook.

I am facing the same wierd keyboard issue..
Whatsapp still crashes as usual.
I updated it thru OTA. Iphone 5.

I'm feeling somewhat blessed, since I'm usually the type to run into all the bugs, but the only bug I've really experienced with b1 and b2 is, on my 5s, sometimes, the phone is unresponsive for about 10 seconds while locked

Beta 2 has felt smoother, but I am getting more issues than with beta 1 on my iPhone 5, Battery Percentage doesn't always display the correct percentage. Cellular Data is spotty, Location Services turns itself off sometimes, and Apps sometimes log you out at random. iMessage bugs especially with the emoji keyboard enabled... Not to mention the annoying home button bug, when you try to single press to close an app it opens multitasking...etc. I did an OTA update from beta 1. But I am going to tough it out until beta 3 which should come in July.

Weird keyboard glitches show up on my iPad mini still, but that could be a result of the OTA.

I'm thinking I might decide to drop back down to iOS 7 and Mavericks when I get back from D.C., just so everything I have is guaranteed stable.

For what it's worth...

Beta 1 --

iPhone 5 = Remarkably stable. Very few issues, especially compared to iOS 7 beta 1.

iPad Mini Retina = Unstable. Frequent app crashes. iOS itself was stable, but most 3rd party apps were unusable.

Beta 2 --

iPhone 5 = Frequent crashes. Some kernel panics. Messages has many issues. Switching keyboards triggers sadness (hanging) .

iPad Mini Retina = Very stable. Smooth. No more frequent app crashes.

Just my notes - and of course, submitting to apple as we go :)

Beta 2 makes beta 1 seem really buggy to me. BTW beta 1 wasn't that bad IMO.

B2 is definitely less stable for me than b1 but in different areas. But then again that's the nature of the beta process, things don't truly get fixed until later on.

Having some of the same issues. Unfortunately making it tough for day to day use right now. Trying to hold out for the next version and hoping these are addressed in the next Beta.
