No such thing as too big, I want a 48mm next lol.

Damn, do I feel stupid. I guess it is the watch face that I never have used. I wish I could delete that post now.
It's all good. The black background makes it look like the new series 7. Which is exactly why I want the series 7. I'd love to finally use colorful watch faces. I stick to black now because of those thick bezels.

The issue with the 41mm is the fact that the case size is the same and that it’s the screen only that got larger
This isnt quite true. Its measured in case size, not screen size, so its a 1mm increase over the series 6 (plus the 20% larger screen due to less bezel). The 45mm its technically 45.5mm

For series 6. The 40mm had a screen size of 39mm. Whilst the 44mm had a screen size of 45.2mm.

So far i like it - did a lsd (Long, slow, distance) run today. Used the app YourRace , AirPods and went for a 1/2 marathon.

What was your battery drain like during your half? Did you have your phone, AOD on, streaming from lte or music stored on watch?

@MayfairMissy - thanks. I should have known that because on my S6 I've been using a version of that that's pre-customized (if that's a word) by the HeartAnalyzer app. The pic below is on the S7 that I picked up last week but it looks basically the same on a S6 (including same display colors).

Wow, I think I will have to try this app too. It looks much more "readable" than the one that Apple has.

It’s all a very personal thing, but for me there is such a thing as too big. Received my 41mm S7 today and I’m happy with my choice. I’m not a small man, I measure my left wrist at 200mm (7.8 inch) and I don’t think I’d want a bigger smart watch strapped to it.

Couldn't agree more. I'm much smaller than my husband for example. My wrists are a lot thinner. He always chooses the smaller size in all black with only one band. It's a tool for him. I love to go all out with big sized edition models and a lot of bands. He could totally pull off the big watch. And according to many opinions I'm the perfect example for the small watch. But both of us couldn't care less. 😅

As long as you are both happy, that is great. Could I ask, do you own the iPhone Pro Max? While I like the larger Watch, I do not want an oversized phone so I have just the ‘Pro’ model.

Yes, I recently upgraded from my normal sized 11 pro to the 13 pro max. I love the bigger display and was used to the really good battery of the 11 pro, which, to be honest, was still slightly better than on my new phone. My husband didn't upgrade and kept the normal sized 11 pro. And I totally get why. The 11 pro is still one of the best phones in my opinion. With phones I really like all sizes. My son has the 12 mini and I think it's an absolutely great size as well.

I just want to add that I didn't receive my AW 7 order yet. I ordered both watch sizes this time to compare them on my wrist. The bigger case and watch faces made me a bit nervous because I am really on the petite side. I'm undecided this time.

I was guessing you would have gotten the 13 Pro Max. I upgraded from the iPhone X to the iPhone 13 Pro. I once owned the largest of the iPhones but it just seemed to big for me. I absolute love my iPhone 13 Pro in Sierra blue! It is so beautiful and the camera is just astounding.

I hope I equally happy with my 45mm AW7.

I think my "problem" is that without changes in size I don't get that kick of having bought a real novelty. I tend to move through different sizes in my gadget upgrades because often otherwise they wouldn't feel that new to me. It's a bit sad but on the other hand it shows how good those things have become now that there's nothing much to improve anymore.
Another thought I often have is that for us females it doesn't matter if the phone is too big. It won't fit our pockets anyway. We mostly have to carry it in a bag even if it's small. But that's a whole other can of worms.

I'm also a bit unsure which version to take.
Had the 40mm version so far, which somehow looks tiny to me now. So delicate.
Got 45mm yesterday that feels like i can just barely make it work.

Should also get the 41mm today, hopefully that will make it easier to decide.

But for me, something around 43mm would probably have been perfect 😅

Yes, absolutely. I feel the same. I would need a size in-between. Maybe this year the 41mm will appear a bit bigger.

So what is the verdict with the 41?
Compared to the old school 42, the 41 is 1.5mm shorter and 1.4mm less wide
the 45 is 2.5mm taller and 1.6mm wider.
The old school 42 would've been the perfect dimensions.

42/43 would fit me perfect. I decided to get the 41mm as I think 45 is just over the limit for me. But I was super worried the 41 would be too small.

initially I was a little underwhelmed. But after days of use I’m so so glad I went for the smaller size, it looks like a proper watch, and I just appreciate the size for working out and sleep tracking.
