I talked to my local Apple store, and they said that if the promotion comes out within 2 weeks of the purchase date we can still get the promotion. When I asked about BTO and ordering it they said we get 2 weeks from the day it gets delivered. So I've gotten a iMac BTO on order, should be delivered on the 27, which should be right around the time of the promotion historically!

My only worry with that is if they delay the offer or something. So I'd just rather wait that little bit longer to make sure I definitely get the free iPod! Hope it all works out ok for you though!

Yeah I was worried about that too. But the last three years it was the last Tuesday of May, so I think I'm safe, hopefully haha.

Also the USB ports on my MacBook have finally given out, so I don't really have a chance to wait unfortunately

lol well if you see my previous post, it looks like you should be fine. Apple Insider are saying that the offer should start next week. Looks like I'm going to be poor again next week... lol!

Apple Education store is down for me at the moment. Maybe a sign that they're getting things ready for the promotion to start tomorrow? Let's hope so!

Canadian Education store is still online and no changes have been posted as of right now.

Fingers crossed it's only 4 hours to go before Mr Jobs kicks off the back to school offer at WWDC 2011!

I'm rather skeptical that he would announce the BTS promotion at an event such as WWDC - it just doesn't seem to be the correct forum, or even that big a deal to have Steve Jobs announce it at the event. I would imagine that this promotion will launch in the coming days with just a banner on the education online store and in-store promotional material - but hey, time will tell.

Yeah I thought that as well, but there have been rumours suggesting the announcement to come at WWDC. My thoughts are that it won't be mentioned by Steve Jobs in his keynote, but will be released at the event. If you know what I mean.

I'm guessing no particular mention of it at WWDC, unless they've given the promotion a bit of an over haul and it all ties in with the iCloud. I'm hoping to see it launch this week as I've got the money burning a hole in my pocket but have been holding off as it allows me to justify the cost of an iPod Touch 64GB.

Well it was finally announced a couple of days ago, only to be ruined by the fact they've downgraded it from £200 worth of iPod to £65 worth of iTunes vouchers.

Can't decide whether to bother with an iMac now!

lol yeah I know what you mean! But I've literally just bought a MacBook Pro so the possible iMac purchase was based on selling the iPod I got to lower the cost some more.

I'll still probably end up getting one, but just might take me another month to pluck up the courage and just buy it! lol!
