@fotomatt1, I'm a big fan of doing a recovery and restore of my iPhone if it starts acting cludgy. Just make sure you have a couple full backups first (including encrypted if you have health data on your phone, so you get it backed up as well).

Worth popping into an Apple store to have them run diags on it for the battery.

If it's still causing you grief every day after doing what you can, then I'd say you have no choice but to pull the trigger on an upgrade.

I think I'm going to do it. At least my 6 is still at a point where I can still get a decent price for it on eBay and if I get a 7 and want to upgrade 8 months from now I'll be able to sell that for a decent price. I work in marketing in a consumer electronics business, and I should know better than to start waiting for a product for a long stretch of time.

I can appreciate your analogy. What color are you upgrading to? And the 7+ is a powerhouse iPhone. You're going to like it.

So, I upgraded. Got a Matte Black 128 gig. And wow, this thing is blazing fast compared to the 6+.

I'm still playing around getting used to the dual camera and portrait mode.

And my son is enjoying having his own "game phone" in my old 6+

I pulled the trigger too. Also got a 128gb matte black +. Just curious why you wouldnt sell your 6+? My 6 is going on Ebay tonight. I have the original box with the original power adapter, cable and headphones still in their original wrappers untouched. If anybody wants it let me kniow before it goes up tonght.

Well, as was, my son who is 9 would always steal mine or my wifes phone to play games. Since my 6+ was completely paid off, I just wiped it clean, installed his games on it, put on my old otterbox case and said "This is yours. You can play all the free games you want on it. It is your responsibility to 1. not lose it, and 2. keep it charged. If either of those things do happen, you will not use mine or your mothers phone to play games."

He's esctatic and I think it makes him a little proud to have such a responsibility.

I was surprised too how much faster the 7 Plus is over the 6s Plus for comparison as well. The 6 Plus struggled with 1 GB of Ram, which really lagged it.

I'm having the very same dilemma. My 6+ has been acting crazy with this annoying screen flickering which makes the phone unresponsive regarding of what I do, unless I do a hard reboot. I have been dealing with it for a few weeks but for some reason today it's specially bad. I can barely multi task before it starts to freeze up on me.
That sounds like something that a Genius at an Apple Store needs to look at.

Yes I might go this route, though I'm not sure if it's cheaper for me to get it fixed through a third party. Even though my phone is out of warranty, do they offer a warranty on parts they replace or do I have to get applecare for that?

I'm pretty sure the digitizer is crapping out on me. When the screen freezes my home button and other physical buttons work, so does landscape mode when I flip it. I'm holding off upgrading until later and it's probably cheaper for me to get it replaced than to buy a used phone on swappa or something.
