Good Lawd, I just launched Apple Maps the grey's looks terrible.
My screen is perfect and so are my colleagues. On these forums you tend to have those with bad experiences posting much more than those who haven’t had issues. Bad screens would be in the minority.I currently have a launch day X and I want to upgrade today. Going to an electronics store after I finish work to pick up either an 11 Pro or a 12 Pro.
I'm honestly scared of buying a 12 Pro because of all the issues I've read on the forums. I don't really care that the screen is warmer / little yellowish, but the fact that the OLED pixels sometimes can't turn off completely and display pure black colors is really disappointing.
Are there good units with perfect screen?
Indeed. And let’s not forgot having “bad screens” are subjective subjective ( cough cough ). My wife’s screen to her is immaculate, but not to me, nor has it been for the three devices I’ve had.My screen is perfect and so are my colleagues. Yes and I don't have it.@RunsForFun
Do you checked your device for the raised black issue?

Anyone else noticed improper pure black levels similar to LCD screen? You can check videos like this, better in a pitch black room:forums.macrumors.com

There’s been plenty of screen issues regarding Samsung devices including their recent trademark, green tint issue discussed on many forums.I’ve owned too many smart phones to remember. Mostly iPhone and Samsung. I don’t actively look for screen issues. After about a week any problems that may exist should become apparent.
That said I’ve never returned a phone for screen issues. I will say that I like Samsung phone screens better than Apple but it’s not a big deal. Generally text is clearer on Sammies IMO perhaps due to higher PPI. But it’s not noticeable after a few days.
From what I’ve noticed there is a group of people who will fixate on their screen immediately and actively look for problems for hours and days. And the more you look the more problems you will see. Real or imagined. This seems to be an iPhone phenomenon as I don’t remember screen issues threads on the Sammy forums.
Careful; the “PPI Doesn’t Matter Police” might want to have a word with you now.Problem I have with the Apple display, particularly as I get older, is that the pixel density is lower than similar Samsung devices. For the Note 10 plus it's 495 ppi and the Pro Max 12 is 458. The new S21 Ultra will be 516. Comparing the Note 10 plus with the Pro Max I find it easier to read this forum with the Samsung on Tapatalk.
Yep, be careful bigger numbers always means better 😂Careful; the “PPI Doesn’t Matter Police” might want to have a word with you now.
Yes I'm aware of that. I also know that when I switch between platforms on an annual basis the very first thing that hits me is text reading. It's less distinct for me on an iphone and I'm not even expecting it. Typically it isn't enough to make a difference and I forget about it after a few days. But I think maybe older eyes have caught up with me and the Pro Max may need to go back and I end up with the S21 Ultra. I do quite enjoy the iPhone OS and what Apple had done with widgets so I won't be happy about leaving that.Careful; the “PPI Doesn’t Matter Police” might want to have a word with you now.
