A number of individuals are speculating that Flight 404's Magnetosphere iTunes visualizer is likely to be "trippy" iTunes 8 visualizer described by Kevin Rose.

Magnetosphere had been available as a free download from the developer's site until a few months ago. The author responded to an inquiry by Allan White that the plug-in had been "sold to a third party".

Other example videos of the developer's impressive visual work:

- Magnetosphere (High quality QuickTime version).
- Magnetosphere Revisited
- Turbulence w/ flares
- Magnetic Sphere

I love the scrolling library pictures (or album art) through the Apple TV, but it would be great to see something like this, or any of the iTunes visualizers (like Kaleidostrobe) available on the Apple TV too. Only question is can the CPU and GPU in the Apple TV handle something like this.

That's nice, but I wonder how it taxes the processors and GPUs (especially the integrated ones).

That is trippy. I like it. It'll be cool to have it going on my TV when I'm listening to music from my Mac that's hooked up to it...but that means I'd have to listen to it from iTunes, and not Front Row, right?

Here's hoping for visualizer support in Front Row!!

Is this reminding anyone of the Coldplay commercial they ran for Viva La Vida? Could just be me.

There is rhyme and reason to everything Apple does. That space theme in Leopard runs much deeper than a few images. :)

I could be reading way into it, but it's a sign of the times. This appears much more advanced than it really is. Then, Steve and Jony are both good at that.
