As horrible as Apple's software has been lately, if they have the gall to raise prices I'll just keep what I have all the while longer. They've been selling the same iPhone for like 6 years now, maybe they'll actually innovate again to justify the higher prices. Making bigger camera bumps and bigger notches obviously won't get me to upgrad
”They've been selling the same iPhone for like 6 years now” okay bro….As horrible as Apple's software has been lately, if they have the gall to raise prices I'll just keep what I have all the while longer. They've been selling the same iPhone for like 6 years now, maybe they'll actually innovate again to justify the higher prices. Making bigger camera bumps and bigger notches obviously won't get me to upgrade.
Eh, can just keep using my 14 Pro for a bit longer. It works very well, and there isn’t anything I need from the newer models.
For mini users, there’s no upgrade, regardless of American orange President and/or colourless CEO of Apple. No this is not the time to upgrade.
to be more clear, almost all of those Chapter 11 filings were for Casino related businesses that were decimated as the whole Atlantic City business conglomerate was due to the Great Recession around 2008/2009.
Sorry, no. Trump first declared bankruptcy for his Taj Mahal casino in 1991, just a year after it opened. He filed for bankruptcy on three more properties in 1992. Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts filed for bankruptcy again in 2004. Trump Entertainment Resorts declared bankruptcy in 2009, likely the only bankruptcy related to the 2008/2009 economic downturn. So only one filing could arguably be related to external economic forces. The other five bankruptcies were due to his mishandling of debt, with investors getting screwed.
And many would not understand it anyway. It's interesting that 50% of Americans just don't want to hear that. That's strange.
Yep totally. I'm not saying that Apple is terrible compared to its peers - in fact it's pretty similar as you say.Apple, like other multinational companies, have been chasing supply chain margins for years. The same reason why so many American auto manufacturers have plants in Canada and Mexico, and a car or truck will often make many trips across the border during its production.
That’s a long way around in saying you agree.Congress abdicated the authority to levy tariffs to the executive branch, he is exercising authority vested to him by Congress.
He will have no choice, but to raise prices, all smart phones are going up in the US. Look at Switch2, Nintendo stopped pre-sales because of this mess.lol no. Apple isn’t going to do jack about iPhone pricing because consumers are already backing off on luxury purchases even before the word “tariff” was ever uttered.
Cook is a dial tone but he’s not stupid. If he touches the pricing he will see profits fall off a cliff.
That’s a long way around in saying you agree.
I can assure you that there was very little trust already. What tiny shards remained at the end of trumps last term, have been all but obliterated. How are all those who were too apathetic to vote feeling now?
How are all those who voted for him feeling?
Funny how idealism takes a hit once the hip pocket gets hurt...
The world watches.
I see an option is Congress acts and removes Trump on mental health grounds.
Then Vance can take over and claim he was always there for that eventuality.
If Vance continues the same game, then Congress has proven already they can remove someone not acting in national interests...
They keep going down the succession list until someone reverses this madness.
The next issue is to rebuild trust with the world that this wont happen again.
That probably requires something strongly legislated that one person cannot at the stroke of a pen and whim make these decisions.
Decades of goodwill has been destroyed and people dont forget easily.
Of course they will, because everyone has an extra 25% of their income just laying around.Because he promised to make these companies more money
Hence the tariffs means price increases so then consumers pay more
That is why they will put the cost up on the new iphones worldwide so it’s not as much as 25% and it’s a much lower figure because it’s spread out throughout the whole worldOf course they will, because everyone has an extra 25% of their income just laying around.
The companies will likely sell less, while their production costs increase, and the Tariff revenues go to the government.
Wait! Do you mean that party that espouses "Personal Freedom", but claims to own the bodies of half the populace? But the tariffs go straight to the government as a form of tax.
The political party allegedly in favour of a small state, low tax government just put a 40% sales tax on consumer electronics. This additional government revenue will then be used to justify heavier tax cuts for the rich.
Once again the average citizen suffers.
Very clever, except for the fact that those countries are going to retaliate against American Products with Tariffs of their own. That is why they will put the cost up on the new iphones worldwide so it’s not as much as 25% and it’s a much lower figure because it’s spread out throughout the whole world
I think it will be interesting to see what google & Samsung do price wise after the Apple eventVery clever, except for the fact that those countries are going to retaliate against American Products with Tariffs of their own.
It'll be great for Samsung.
What I don’t understand, and I’m not meant to, is that the Blob is trying to encourage new manufacturing in the USA by destroying 32 million small business and 21,000 large employers. We're so ****ed. As you said with the Switch, who knows what it'll end up costing with the new tariffs? It might actually be cheaper for my co-worker in Ireland to buy me something and bring it with him on a work trip rather than me buying something here in the US.
FIY, Hitler was elected.A democratically elected dictator, who is destroying democracy? 🤣
Trump filed for bankruptcy six times in his business career. That is not definitely a streak of bad luck — that is a pattern.General Motors
Chrysler
Marvel Entertainment
Texaco
Apple-was going to file but Microsoft saved them with a $150,000,000 USD cash infusion
GMAC/Ally Financial
What do they all have in common?
Bankruptcy, which is just a form of restructuring and paying off debt.
And just to be clear, HE has never filed personal bankruptcy, mostly Chapter 11 types to protect assets and pay off debt. And also to be more clear, almost all of those Chapter 11 filings were for Casino related businesses that were decimated as the whole Atlantic City business conglomerate was due to the Great Recession around 2008/2009.
This isn't even mentioning how many other businesses ultimately closed for good in all sectors of the economy which is about 1,800,000 along with almost 9,000,000 jobs lost.
So I think someone that came out of that bloodbath and is as successful a businessman as HE is today, is actually a great choice to get this country back on track economically.
You forgot felon. It's amazing anyone believes the branding of Trump as a "business guy"
He's a game show host with a long track record of failing at business and being a con man and grifter.
Full stop.
He's a great political marketer, and that's about where his skill ends.
