Is staingate present in 2015 MacBook Pros?

Lol when a stain on the screen appears perfectly in the shape of the keyboard, and all I did was close the MBP and carry it around (And not tightly put pressure onto it when it was closed), then yes, I think that the keyboard, or at least that area, can cause staining.

I have no marks that represent the keyboard or any key as the bezel on the 15" does not touch any parts of the keyboard at all. The keyboard CANNOT cause the AR film to start degrading - it's no possible. People need to lay off the red cordial. Why in the world are people making up excuses for this when obviously its a manufacturing defect, and so gullible to believe they did it.

Dude calm down.. I was just curious to find out when it's recommended to wipe your screen. I didn't make any acusation.
And for your information. Some people just throw alcohol on their screen and then they scream that it's screen's fault for damaging itself. Also I have a question. If my rMBP 2012 has presented no sign of AR Coating, should i be worried in the future ? I clean my screen four time a month with wipes for glasses which doesn't affect the AR coating and my screen looks very good. However I can see on my screen little marks made by the keyboard. It's dust stuck in the screen but no staingate so far.

Again this is nothing to do with the keyboard as none of the keys touch the bezel. Why is this so hard for people to comprehend?

Sorry, I looked at every one of the pictures in their gallery. All I see is abuse. Nothing there that shows any sort of systemic problem.

I mean, come on... some of these:

http://www.staingate.org/static/img/gallery/20.png <-- especially!

Who do they think they're trying to kid, anyway? All including stuff like that does is dilute the message to the point that even if there *were* a problem, it's going to get dismissed.

Why do you assume these are the result of abuse ?

It looks to me like a thermal pattern - the screen overlying metal bits is more damaged than that lying over the keys (plastic) or trackpad(glass). I suspect this problem occurs due to the effect of residual heat radiating from the metal chassis to the screen whn the lid is closed down. This might also explain why only some people experience it because most people don't run the machine at full capacity.

Why is your argument, "IF THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ME, THEN IT OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T EXIST"? I can tell you from my own personal experience, after having stains present in my 2012 rMBP, I tried my hardest to steer away from any solution-based cleaners and such, and only resorted to water and microfiber cloths. Well, it turns out that the MBP's keyboard area literally pressed against the screen, and you can clearly see some of the individual key's imprint on the screen.

I use a cleaner called Swoosh on my rMBP, no staingate after 2 years. I also use a 3M skin on my keys, and just get a few particles on the screen. No keyboard marks.

I'd didn't say it doesn't exist. I have seen the pictures. A friend of mine in architecture who was one of the first people I knew with a rMBP had it. I was merely suggesting a good cleaner and keyboard cover solution that doesn't seem to cause staingate for me. Get over yourself.

What does your previous comment bring into the conversation? Of course people know that it only affected a small percentage of people. Commenting that you didn't get it doesn't add anything to the conversation.

I wasn't aware of that. I thought staingate happened to anyone using a cleaner and/or you were just unlucky. You said you moved away from solution based cleaners, so I thought I'd suggest a good cleaner I use. Sorry for trying to be helpful.

I only use a lint-free cloth and water that's it. Yet I still get the AR issue. This proves beyond a doubt its a manufacturing defect. Plus I hardly close the lid on my system which means it's not the keys as I have no marks inside the bezel borders at all. All marks are only on the black bezel - nowhere else - where they keys do not press.

You didn't answered my question. And stop pretending you know everything about everything. AND YES because of my keyboard the dust stucked inside the screen and created those marks.
If it didn't happend to you this doesn't mean that it will not happen to everyone.

I think you have the same problem like i do. I don't think that is AR coating, is just dust stuck inside your screen because the keyboard pressed against it. If you carry your rmbp in your backpack becareful with the books or anything heavy that might press on your notebook.

WTF I have told everyone many times there are no key outlines on the screen and no marks beyond the black bezel towards the centre of the screen. Why is it so hard for people to comprehend this? It's not dust as dust would come off easily with water and a lint-free cloth. Since this is not the case, i's the AR Coating. Im sick to death of people using excuses to accept what is not acceptable.

Again, clearly this issue can only be attributed to a one case scenario and that case scenario is definitely not yours ;)

Here's an update to the Apple Macbook Pro Retina AR Coating issue. Back in October 2015 Apple replaced the screen ($1,400) at no cost under an internal display replacement programme. Only a couple of months ago the same issue started to occur again.

After providing photographic evidence of this issue, Apple asked me to take the system for confirmation to an AASP in Cairns today. 2 hours later Apple Executive Liaison calls me to agree to my resolution. Apple are now replacing the whole computer with the latest model at no additional cost to me.

If the replacement screen didn't fix the issue, unfortunately I'm sure it'll creep up again on your new MacBook at some point down the road. At least you got a brand new MacBook you lucky so and so. :)

That's what I'm thinking too but hey its a new system and not costing me an extra cent. Pity they probably wont hold out till the new MBPR is released - supposedly with an OLED display where the function buttons are.

Funny, when this thread began both of my MacBook Pros where pristine and now I'm 2 for 2.

:(

ArmCortexA8, the latest affected is a 2015 15.4"
