Other Is Swappa a safe way to sell an iPhone?

I said this forum is a good place, which it is. I didn't say it was perfect. No place is perfect as we, as human beings, are flawed beings.

Not trying to discredit anything. Just pointing out that a bad deal can happen anywhere. This forum is no less susceptible than anywhere else.

Again, if I had said the forum was a perfect place, your posts would have a point. Since I didn't state that, or even allude to such, I don't see what the point was of posting what you did to me.
There are very good sellers and buyers here. The forum has a big following. You don't have to pay fees and people are generally very good in communication, honest, and shipping. This place is my first preference followed by Swappa and then eBay as a last resort.
We already know that 'bad deals' can happen anywhere, that's the nature (And risk) of selling online in general. But the point that BasicGreatGuy is making is MacRumors is a very small, localized group of "Known" community of members that likely have had selling experience prior and don't want to risk their membership being revoked or any other actions for the sake of trying to fraud someone else. Your risks are far less of fraud on here than any other selling site likely on the Internet, especially given the rule requirements to even sell on Macrumors in the first place.

Agreed. I have not heard horror stories on MR's forums as much as I do from people using CL or other services.
I just sold a phone a new S9+ for $700 on Swappa. It is probably my 4th and most expensive item I sold. The buyer paid, lives in Miami. I sold with insurance and signature confirmation in USPS record is a scribble. The buyer has not responded on Swappa sale page to mark complete and after 5 days of delivery I will have Swappa mark complete.
I am now nervous reading this 180 day policy. It is ludicrous. I am nervous because when I search the buyer's address it comes up as a Boost Mobile retailer. Why would a Boost Mobile retailer or someone that works for them need to buy a phone off Swappa. ? I am very nervous something is going to go wrong and now I have to wait 180 days before these nerves go away. I have another sale from 5 months ago that I also pray nothing goes wrong in the next 30 days. I will no longer sell on Swappa. Even if this sale ends up being fine the risk of buyer fraud found all over searching the internet is too easy given Paypal's policies. I guess this applies to Ebay as well since they also use Paypal. So is Swappa safe to sell, I would say no, safe to buy , definitely. I am going to try to cut down on buying phones for the freebies just because they are a good deal and either sell on Craigslist or trade in in the future.

It turns out that the carrier had no report of lost/stolen so wtf was Swappa reporting? Drumming up biz for their sellers?
