I don't think its bad actually.

It's just there if you're coming from a 6s / Plus. IMO there's not much reason to upgrade. Coming from a 6, you see a lot of speed gains and the RAM is glorious

It really does seem like most of the complaints are from people who own a 6S. I do not really know what they were expecting though. The 6S already runs IOS 10 like a champ

Satisfied users (the vast majority) never post. Dissatisfied users (the vast minority) always do. Such is forum life.

Buy the 7. If you like it...and you probably will...keep it. If you don't...return it. No harm no foul. :D

I've been on/off the fence about upgrading from my 6s, which is running iOS10 & doing great. Personally, I don't see the 7's updates warranting me spending more money right now...but that attitude changes every day!

We get the same moaning every year. These complaints are not unique to the iPhone 7. It was the same last year and it will be the same next year.

I like mine. I had a 6s, so performance wise I can't tell a difference. Apples battery claims are true- I seem to get about 2 more hours of use compared to the 6s. I really didn't "need" to get the new 7, but like every year, I give in at the last minute and get it. It's definitely not miles ahead of the 6s, but I am enjoying the incremental upgrades offered in this model.
Also, I am not experiencing any of the reported issues being talked about here. My screen is fine, I'm not noticing any hissing, camera is great, etc.

Try it out. I'm coming from a 6s ( which I love and am still torn on keeping or not) which is pretty awesome. These forums will make you paranoid. I was on them a lot when the phone first came out just to read the reviews. I'm still waiting to hear this hissing but all I hear is the phone working, and only if I put my ear to it! I had planned not to upgrade until next year but I am actually saving money with the 7 and if I didn't upgrade this year and next year's phone is no improvement, I'd still have a 3 yr old phone when I did. I'm sure it would be fine.

That being said, don't let these forums make you paranoid. If I'm torn on keeping the 7, it's only because the 6s was my first new, launch day phone ever. Now with yearly upgrades that might become less of a novelty.

I love the new home button and the matte black is pretty sharp. I did my own tests between them and they seemed pretty equal when I did. I still kinda wish I'd gotten silver again. Def next time! I don't want to pay the restocking fee.

Sorry this is so long. I've been wanting to vent because these forums basically are ruining the phone for me even though I've had no issues so far. *fingerscrossed

The iPhone 7 plus (have no experience with the 7) is a beast. I'm coming from the note 7, previously galaxy s 6 (since my time with the note 7 was cut short). I felt very skeptical making the move to an iPhone, seeing as the specs seem somewhat lacking for its price, in comparison to many android devices. This device, however, turned out to be a beast. It is on par with the note 7, even surpasses it on some levels. Sure, screen isn't as beautiful (though I'd argue, it looks more natural and realistic), but despite that it's definitely one of the best phones out there.

As for the complaints, always remember that people who are happy with their device won't be posting about it on any forums. They'll be too busy enjoying their device. That's not to say that there aren't gonna be some faulty devices in the first, perhaps even rushed, batch of devices.

As for the yellow tint, I only notice that when I change around on my settings (battery saving mode and night shift mode), otherwise it's a really great looking screen. The colors look beautiful on it :)

Not sure what people expected from this phone. I find it a very exciting phone with many new and improved features.
Though, I do miss my wireless fast charging from my Samsung devices. With this battery life, however, I can definitely live without it.

Yes don't buy it. I'd say wait for the model next year or go with the Note 7 as it is honestly the more superior phone at the moment.

You are joking, right? Not only did the note get smoked by an iphone 6s, the freaking thing explodes. I guess if you want a phone in a survival situation the note would be better, but make sure you've got plenty of wood because it seems that using your Note to light a fire is a 1 time deal.

Seriously though, I was a die hard android user, been using it since the first tmobile smart phones way back in the day when HTC was still at the top. I switched to iphone last year and couldn't be happier with it.

My 7+ is great, no complaints.

The display is more noticeably better than I expected and I've come to the conclusion the home button is fine, merely different to what I'm used too.

The speakers are a nice upgrade also, listening to podcasts while pootling around the house. Use the iPP mostly for that, but for those times it isn't to hand, the 7+ does a notably better job than my 6S+.

I have owned the majority of flagship phones released in the last 2-3 years. The 7 plus is the best phone I have used. It's so good, I bought an Apple Watch, essentially locking me in.

If you are unsure if iOS, edit and see what the pixel phones offer. The current iPhones and, I bet, the soon to be released pixel phones will offer the best of their respect he platforms.

Btw thanks for all the positivity in this post. I had my mind set to send the 6s in and then I'm debating again this morning. It's prob going back. I have some money in cases and screens already but I'm having a hard time letting go

Just an FYI for Tmobile users or people who may want to switch to tmobile. They are stopping their 6 and 6s trade in deal on sunday so you only have today and tomorrow to get in on the deal. That deal is the main reason I upgraded, I'm basically getting >$600 for my 6+ from Tmo. If I tried selling it on swappa or ebay I'd maybe get 1/2 that, no brainer for me.

For the OP, I'd seriously suggest reading threads from people who have switched from android to IOS before you make the jump. For me, my wife was already an ios user so it was a little easier than for some. I can tell you I don't miss android at all, and I was a "root my phone, customize the hell out of it" kind of user.

Performance & speed are clearly noticable from the 6s. The front facing speaker a huge improvement. The haptic button is a great segway to no button next year. May not be enough for some buyers.

Coming from Android to iOS is definitely a nice breath of fresh air if you've never used iOS before. I came from a Note 3 to a iPhone 6 Plus to now the 7 Plus. I admit I did think about switching back over for the Note 7 but at the end of the day, I couldn't do it.

No complaints here! Had the 6, sold it then went to the 4 for a couple weeks and then just got my 7 last night. Missed the extra real estate and the speed! The matte black is killer too!
