As I've said many times: the loudest voice is in your wallet. As long as people continue to buy the products as is, then Apple will keep making them that way. And if enough people are putting it up with it enough to keep buying it, then Apple won't view it as a problem.

Are you buying this phone? If so, will you return it if it has only 1GB of RAM? If not, then you're part of the problem.

Oh, yeah: what he said.

My samsung s4 with 2gb of ram is much worse at reloading pages (or apps), then my friends iPhone 5s, as well as my iPad 3. Specs don't mean crap against real world use.

I was just about to say... my crappy S3 has 2GB of RAM, if anyone would like it they are welcome to it. It's a POS.

All those who don't understand the problem should watch this video. It's an iPad and not an iPhone but that's of no consequence, the same issue affects my iPhone.

Its a trivial fault. Wifi dropping, goofy bluetooth and a camera driver suddenly going crazy, causing your device to heat up until you reboot it (all Note 3 issues I've had) are actual problems.

It isn't trivial to me in the slightest. It bugs me every single day.

Now these die hard apple people on here seem to think even if iphone had 512mb it would be amazing. What is wrong with these people? I dont know what annoys me more about them, the lack of understanding of a problem that needs to be solved or their blind following without any understanding.

You complain yet you still bought an iPhone. Hmm.

We're not even sure until release and reviews are out how much RAM exactly either device will have.

Agreed. What I find truly annoying is all of the wailing and gnashing of teeth about something no one has even confirmed yet.

No but it will have one gig of RAM just like the iPhone 5 and 5S....so we know what to expect. Are you so oblivious?

And you know this how?

It is strongly suspected industry-wide that the iPhone 6 has only one gig of RAM. We're awaiting confirmation but it's virtually guaranteed. The 6+ however MAY have 2GB but again this hasn't been confirmed. It could just as easily have 1GB.

Some of us like how our 5 and 5S's work. 1gb is definitely not working on my iPad air but my apps that I've recently accessed on my iPhone rarely reload on 1gb ram. Holding lots of tabs is also fine. Sure I'd like it to have 2gb ram, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

It depends on the websites visited and how data heavy they are. With my usage patterns I experience this problem several times a day, every single day, so whether you do or not is frankly of no consequence to me (and I don't mean to be rude).

I shouldn't have been lumbered with this 1GB of inadequate RAM on the iPhone I have currently and it is more or less confirmed that the 4.7" i6 has the same amount. Do you not research these things? I would have pre-ordered by now if Apple released their specs but I'm holding off because this RAM thing is crucial (to me).

Or buy another phone.

Obviously that's the way I will go if the 1GB is confirmed. As things stand though, I don't want to leave iPhones so I'm waiting for news. It's a joke that I'll have to wait for a third party to inform me of the RAM quota in the iPhone 6 because Apple can't be bothered (or they're too embarrassed to say).

I don't get it. If you're not happy with your iPhone why don't you just buy something else? You have a problem with lack of RAM. I get it. But clearly not everyone does. Coming here and ranting doesn't help solve your problem. Apple isn't giving you what you want, so look elsewhere. If everyone complaining about the RAM just did that, and if it's really such a big problem, then maybe Apple would lose enough costumers to do something. As a consumer, your dollars speak louder than 100 online rants.

So, in one statement you say it is more or less confirmed. By who, and what hard evidence have they shown? Then you say "if the 1GB is confirmed." Since you already "know" that it only has 1GB you should just cancel your order and get something else.

True, and I will vote with my wallet. I really didn't want to leave iPhones though as I'm happy aside from this reloading thing (although it's an absolute dealbreaker), and I also have a ton of paid for apps. I'm still waiting on news re RAM in the 6+...

I understand, I left iPhone after the 4S because I was tired of the lack of innovation (screen, RAM, battery, camera, etc).

But honestly, even though my Samsung models have had better specs, IMO they're still inferior to the iPhone experience. They're not streamlined, Google services are fragmented, and my phone freezes and lags constantly. Even with 2GB of RAM. I've been extremely displeased with my Android experience and it's really made me feel that specs don't mean much when the day to day use of the phone is crappy.

1GB on the i6 is more or less a shoe-in. The 6+ however MAY have 2GB. There are several sources in various threads both here and on the web. I'm about to log-off now so can't post links. Quite a few people are complaining about the RAM, not just me.

Interesting. I'm worried that if I get the Note 4 I'll regret it. I'm just sick to death of the browser reloading issue that I run into daily. I truly hope that the 6+ has 2GB of RAM and then all will be well. Otherwise I may try the Note 4 and then flip it for the iPhone 6S next year if I'm unhappy with it or miss iOS too much. Hopefully the 6S will get more RAM

I ordered 6+ 64gb, now developing cold feet as it does not have sapphire display nor 2gb RAM.

Why are so many people here die hard apple fans, literally bouncing and nodding to every move apple make. Remember apple, although they are excellent, sometimes they dont get it right, which means if you follow them blindly you will also *sometimes* get it wrong.

Which leads me onto this browser refresh issue. This always happens, tabs have to constantly reload. I dont have this problem in my pc or laptop.

Now these die hard apple people on here seem to think even if iphone had 512mb it would be amazing. What is wrong with these people? I dont know what annoys me more about them, the lack of understanding of a problem that needs to be solved or their blind following without any understanding.

Why should the tabs refresh, whats the point in having tabs if they refresh, we could just make a new folder in favourites and put them in there and use just one tab. Thats the whole POINT of tabs, so you dont refresh and they are there, simultaneously. I should be able to choose when I want to refresh.

By the way i pre order an iphone 6 plus 128gb, many are saying it could have 2gb of ram but regardless the iphone 6 has 1 gb which is almost unacceptable.

The problem exists on so many apple devices, and the solution is simple, add more ram. Why can they not understand this.

And im sorry the iphone is a flagship device, everyone knows how much I paid for the iphone 6 plus 128gb, it does not come cheap, along with products like the mac pro, these are the expensive flagship devices.

Why should the people buying iphone have to compromise when the competitor phones have double or more ram as standard. This is somewhat disappointing for a top top end device. If it was a cheap device then sure, you get what you pay for etc.

Ram is not something we should be having to complain about in 2014.

"rant, rant, rant, rant...

rant, rant...

rant, rant, rant...

i pre-ordered the iphone".

lol.

You have to admit though that the "quite a few people" are a vocal minority. Of the millions who buy I phones each year, most probably have no clue how much RAM it has, and have not felt limited by it. Apple doesn't advertise specs because most users don't care or even know what they mean, and the ones that do often focus on the numbers. iPhones routinely outperform other phones with better specs.

I just tried to replicate this video's results; did the same thing: opened a reply on MacRumors, typed in some text, then opened another tab (CNN.com) and browsed around, clicked some links, copied some text, and my MR tab stayed in memory. I then opened a third tab, another MR thread, browsed around, and copied some more text, then opened a fourth tab (eBay) and browsed around some more and copied some text.

My first tab remained persistent throughout; the reply that I had started was still there along with the text I had typed. No refresh. This is on a 16GB iPad Air.

I guess not everyone sees the same problem.

Not a bad plan. I could have handled a year of Samsung... two, I'm done.

I can't force it to happen either, it just does it when it feels like it. However, it does do it every single day. I posted the video as an example of the problem, not necessarily to say that doing exactly as in the video would replicate it.

I can have 15 tabs open and it won't do it, yet sometimes I can have a few open and it will. It all depends on the websites visited, and other background apps.
