I tried to pre-order the AT&T iphone6 at the apple store and they said they won't sell it for full price, I could only upgrade. I went to the AT&T store and they said I could only order 1 phone for my account which currently has 4 iPhones. If t-mobiles service was as good as AT&Ts in my area I'd switch, but damn you tmobile, hurry up and expand your damn LTE network!

If I miss on a T-mobile plus should I pay full retail for att? Will it still work for T-mobile? I'm a T-mobile user btw so I need T-mobile more than anything lol

You should be allright with any carrier as long as you pay full price. Except Sprint OFC.

I picked my phone up from UPS this morning (bought directly from Apple) and have it with me now. However, I didn't realize it didn't come with a SIM card removal tool, and I am on a train for the next 12 hours! I am trying to improvise something to get the SIM card slot open - if I can, I will post whether or not it is unlocked on here. Any idea will be appreciated. I'm wondering if I can find someone with a paperclip.

Ask a lady for her earings... you should be able to use the back of it.

Confirmed. The T-Mobile phone from Apple is unlocked. My AT&T SIM works fine in it.

Pried apart something on my keychain to get the SIM slot open.

rnizlek, did you activate the phone using the T-Mobile SIM or did you wait for setup until you put your AT&T SIM in? (maybe it doesn't matter though)

Glad to hear that, I'm on Straight talk (ATT network) and I can't wait to replace my crappy Note 3.

You da man! Can't wait to get my unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 6 this afternoon, or whenever UPS gets around to delivering it :)

This!! This is important what did you do?

Here is what I did:

1. Unboxed iPhone 6
2. Removed T-Mobile SIM (did not turn on iPhone before I did this)
3. Inserted AT&T SIM from existing iPhone
4. Turned on iPhone 6
5. iPhone 6 picked up AT&T LTE after about a minute and has worked fine since.

I have still not connected the phone to iTunes. I am waiting for my SIM-less iPhone 5 to finish syncing right now.

Do you get the "congratulations, your iPhone. Has been unlocked" message in iTunes?

Dude is it because I am SUPER excited or that screen looks AMAZING? :D

I'd say it is because you are excited...that photo was taken in a darkened train tunnel under Baltimore, with my old 5 and and the protective plastic still on! It's pretty out of focus.

That being said, looking at the screen in person, it does look amazing!

Just connected it to iTunes. I didn't see a message explicitly stating it was unlocked, but I didn't look too closely. I got the 'welcome to your new iPhone screen' and it asked me if I wanted to set up new or restore from backup. But it shows my AT&T phone number and appears very happy on the AT&T network.

CASE CLOSED EVERYONE. T-MOBILE iPHONE IS UNLOCKED. :apple:
