I was surprised that Apple did not want more for the Ultra. They have not changed the price so they must still be selling well. I returned mine and went back to mt Series 7 SBTi. I will see what the new Ultra model looks like. Even bigger screen sounds interesting, especially if they offer it in SBTi

Notifications are very controllable. Ever since my Apple Watch 3 - I've turned off most of the notifications that were on by default. I have a favorites list of people who matter to me who are really the only ones who can contact me.

I much prefer Autosleep's information vs other products that I've tried.

I interact with my AW very little throughout the day other than occasional time checks and weather checks. I also like the sundown sunup complications.

Similar as I got tired hauling around my ProMax Weight - can get most of the basics I need on my watch.

I took a quick look and did not see any selling numbers.
Wonder how well it is really doing?
Is it taking from Garmin and others or cannibalizing from other AW?

Yes and No. Mostly No. Let me explain.

Had a Nike AW7. Hit it and somehow busted the screen. Have a Garmin Fenix 7.
Decided based on multiple reviews to give the Ultra a try to see if it can replace the AW7 and GF7.

All round a good watch. Ultra and Fenix are close in size.
Sadly it cannot replace both my watches. Better for my use than the AW7 but not as good as the GF7.

For now I use it as an oversized AW with better battery life. Some point I will replace it with something else.

Speaking for myself, the ultra battery plus the changes to running and heart metrics in watchos9 have brought me back from Garmin after three years.

Garmin is excellent, but I missed so much of the smart watch functions of the Apple Watch. I always bought steel/sapphire models for durability; so the minimal extra for the ultra was not hard to swallow.

I hate the way the Ultra looks, so it isn't worth a dollar to me. But I routinely spend about that much money on other Apple Watches since I always go for the stainless steel versions, and those arguably present less of a value proposition than the Ultra. It's all about whether it is worth the money for you.

In sleek design and vibrant screen,
The Apple Watch Ultra is a dream.
With every tap and swipe and click,
It brings your life to the digital brink.

From fitness tracking to messaging friends,
The Ultra helps you stay on trend.
You can pay with a flick of your wrist,
And never again need to be missed.

With Siri's help, you're always in the know,
And every task is done with a flow.
The Apple Watch Ultra is a work of art,
A symbol of progress and a fresh start.

So wear it with pride and let it shine,
For the Ultra is yours and yours alone.
It's a watch like no other, a true gem,
And with it, your world will never be the same again.

In the world of tech, there's a device so sleek
It sits on your wrist, never too far to reach
The Apple Watch Ultra, a wonder to behold
A perfect blend of form and function, to be told

With a touch or a flick, you control your world
Notifications, messages, all unfurled
Calls, texts, and emails, all in one place
This watch is a lifesaver, keeping up with the pace

The fitness tracker is an added boon
Keeping you active all afternoon
It measures your steps, your heart rate too
Helping you stay healthy, through and through

The sleek design, so smooth and refined
With a range of straps, to fit your kind
From the boardroom to the gym, it's got you covered
A style statement, that can't be smothered

The Apple Watch Ultra, a modern-day feat
A technology, that's hard to beat
With its futuristic features, it's hard to ignore
A wearable, that you'll surely adore.

Don't get me wrong it's a nice watch but is it really worth $799.00?
Samsung Watch 5 pro is going for $450.00 and i's not bad quality.
Soon apple will report earnings and I heard the Ultra is doing that well as well as their Macbook M2 notebooks
and maybe Apple should consider lowering their product prices...just my take.
I think it really depends on the person, what features you going to use or reasons for purchase. I just bought one but I won't be running no marathon or scuba diving. But, I wanted to upgrade my Series 3 and wanted something bigger on my wrist than a regular Apple Watch...I started looking at non-smart watches but I am so used to the features of an Apple Watch that I decided to look into the Ultra. I love it, but I am in a position where I could go in and drop $800 for it, a few years ago I would not have been able to just do that.

Ultra returned. Waiting on the new Ultra. I hear larger screen. Hopefully it won’t be as bulky. Did not think the extra size/bulk was worth the marginally larger screen.

Im sorry it didn't work out for you, the reasons you didn't like it are the reasons why I love it.

It is why Aplle gives us a choice. I stick by my S7 SBTi until, the new Ultra arrives in the fall.
Went from a S7 SBTi and absolutely love the Ultra - Feels way more like my old mechanical divers pieces and to me, looks amazing on the leather links and more robust on even sports bands

Is any product really worth the price? For me I love mine and would struggle to go to a smaller Watch now. Battery life is great and a must have. It’s on my wrist everyday so for me I have no issues spending on products I always use

I can't find it now, but there were rumors that the Ultra will be updated every other year and that there won't be a new model this fall.

I was thinking about replacing my series 6 with an ultra as I use my watch as an workout/activity tracker first and a smartwatch second, so it would do well for me with hiking, trail running, climbing, etc.. I'm going to hold off, though, and see what happens in the fall. I might end up going back to a Garmin, even though I've using an Apple watch since 2017.

All that said, I have a running buddy that bought the Ultra to replace his Series 7 and Fenix, and loves it.

That's impossible to answer because "worth" is not an inherent property of an object, it's a subjective measure and different people will assign different values to the same thing.

For me yes

It’s a Ti body with a sapphire lense, that alone make it more of a real watch, the glass/plastic lense the other Apple Watches had made them a no go for me

I also use my ultra independent of my iPhone, riding my motorcycles and being able to navigate off my watch vs playing the phone mount game is worth it alone

Size wise, as a man sized man it’s about perfect, I really wouldn’t want a larger one as I’m hiking and working around machines all day, don’t want clunky

Price point, my mechanical watches I wear when I have my iPhone on me, they all cost significantly more so 🤷‍♂️

I bought one because I am a sucker for all things Apple. It replaced my S4 44 LTE, the bigger bulk, screen size and faux ruggedness appealed to me and I wanted the best one available and really like it. I have no use for the added fitness and diving stuff.. Is it worth it? For me the answer is yes but my reasons are subjective, I could easily get by with the S4 I had or even an 8.

My S7 SBTi still has plenty of life in it and is still showing 100% battery capacity after over a year and a half of use. It will do just fine for another year if needed.
